Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 8.11.11

Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.

Proverbs 18:2

Pray
Father thank You for such knowledge and wisdom, and the gift of discernment where I have the intelligence to think before I speak, the courage to stand up for what’s right, and the understanding to know not to argue with fools for they know not what they speak. Father hold my tongue when I feel the need to tussle verbally with an individual who obviously doesn’t walk in Your light. I thank You now for redirecting me from those who would waste my time blabbering rhetoric, and instead for pointing me in the direction of enlightenment where I may serve Your Kingdom most effectively. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection
Don’t argue or debate with a person who has clearly shown themselves to be a fool…what does that then say about you? I used to debate tirelessly with fools and after much time I realized that I was serving their purpose but not God’s. Where in the Bible can you find passages of any ambassador of God’s, a devote leader and follower of Christ, arguing with a complete fool? I haven’t found one yet…there is a reason for that. So let’s follow this model and pray for fools, but don’t argue with them or try to change them…they love the darkness of ignorance.

I love you all!
