Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 11.2.11

All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 2:23

Father I woke up this morning in tears and in mental anguish. There were things I was supposed to have taken care of these past few weeks but I procrastinated or didn’t give it my full and best effort, and now weeks later I am looking at the same results. I am looking at results from allowing myself to focus on other people’s needs and not my own, and I am frustrated.

I am also carrying around other people’s burdens, other people’s drama, other people’s failures, and I don’t know how to drop the weight without hurting them and keeping them from turning fully to You.

So I walk around in pain as I’m confused and frustrated about what to do. I have problems, issues, debt, and responsibilities too, why does that never seem to matter to other people, and why don’t I force them to see it?

When night falls my issues follow me to sleep, and sometimes I find myself tossing and turning in bed fighting my personal demons that I couldn’t face in daylight. I wake throughout the night in a cold sweat disturbed by the heavy feeling that is over me.

Father I need peace. I need peace of mind to see clearly what I can handle, what I can take on, and those things that I simply need to place on hold before tackling them. I need to see how to be helpful to others without carrying their weight. I need to learn how to guide them to You and Jesus so that they can develop their own special and close relationship with You.

I need to let go of my pride and accept that there are certain things I can’t do alone or at all at this time in my life; and that if I only give 50% then I will only get that much or less in return, yet if I give 100% effort, time, and drive then I will get that much in return. If I don’t seize opportunities for growth and prosperity around me then there is no reason to complain–for I made the decision not to act. I want to act Lord. I want to take ahold of the blessings You place before me. Show me Father. Free me Father. I’m tired of the pain and grief that I’m causing myself. Humbly I pray. Amen.

There is no point in your life being filled with pain and grief, especially not from the moment you wake and then hours later well into your sleep. God did not create us to live like this. Our pain is self-inflicted as we fail to open our eyes, stretch out our arms, grab ahold of opportunities, and bring them tightly to our chests so that we don’t trip, fall, and lose or destroy them.

How many of us see opportunities in life but we think:

 1) “it’s not time”
2) “I can’t do it”
3) “I can’t do it alone”
4) “that can’t be for me”
5) “that’s too much”
6) “it’s too far out of reach”
7) “it’s too risky”?

Do you see a common thread connecting these claims?
It’s all fear!

I’m tired of living and operating in and out of fear, aren’t you? Aren’t you tired of living a reactionary life, only doing things out of knee-jerk reactions or hiding from things because we couldn’t live up to our responsibilities?

We say we want to live debt-free lives, how about adding “drama-free”, “negativity-free”, “pain-free”, “guilt-free”, and living a life free of fear?

Aren’t you tired of walking around with that aching feeling in your chest that sometimes tightens so much you can barely breathe? Aren’t you tired of your body being in pain because it’s the only way to get the emotional pain from within to come out? Aren’t you tired of your weight fluctuating worse than the stock market? We have to let go and truly release our cares, fears, worries, pain, frustration, anger, guilt, resentment, pride, ego, and everything else to God. We have to let it all go or we will die holding on. I don’t know about you but I want to live a long, healthy, joy-filled life well into my 100s.

I believe there’s a lot that God has in store for me and planned for me and I don’t want to disappoint Him one more day. So as I lovingly encourage each of you to let go, I pray that you also lovingly encourage me to do the same. Let’s push each other to greatness. Let’s push each other to be the best representations of Christ that we can be. Let’s not worry about today, yesterday or tomorrow. Let’s instead…P-U-S-H…

…and then do our parts to make sure we are there to receive our blessings and seize all opportunities that God places before us.

I love and respect you all. Thank you for also loving and respecting me.
