So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
John 8:7 KJV
Father I pray for Your children, not just myself. I pray for grace, forgiveness, humility, honor, trustworthiness, and honesty in each of us. I pray that we are less inclined to harm another out of anger, fear, guilt, pride, embarrassment, or because of the need to judge someone else. Warm our hearts so that we are slow to anger and quick to forgive. We are quick to pass judgment on others yet demand that judgment not be passed on us. We walk as hypocrites Father. Help us to lovingly make things right. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Are you quick to point the finger of guilt at someone else knowing that you have more ‘dirty laundry’ than you would care to admit? Even the saint is a sinner who fell down, got back up, and cleaned themselves off. You are in no place to throw stones when you have mounting cases of sin in your own life. If you throw that stone are you ready for the possibility that it could ricochet and make your glass home come crashing down? Can you take that risk? Is it worth it to you?
Let’s leave the judging to God and those He appointed to judge. You may have an opinion, but let it not serve as judgment towards others, and let it be one that also teaches you a lesson and keeps you on the straight path towards righteousness.
