Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.28.13

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Psalms 42:11 HCSB

Pray
Father I pray that the moments that I feel the walls coming in too close, that I reach out for You. I pray that even in darkness, that I see Your light, smile, and praise Your holy name. I pray that when there doesn’t seem to be a solution, that I believe enough in Your power to solve the problem and show me the way through. Right now, everything that is weighing on me, I pray that You will handle them and show me what to do. I know that You never place on me more than I can handle. Thank You Father. Thank You Father. Thank You Father. Thank You!

Father I pray for my loved ones who struggle with the belief of depression. I pray for those I don’t even know, who also struggle with the belief of depression.

Touch the hearts of those who are so saddened and fearful, that they don’t have enough trust and faith in You to take care of them. Father touch the hearts of those who see more darkness than light, and those whose hope slips slowly away.

Help them to see Your light even in the smallest of areas. Help them to hear and discern Your voice. Help them to see and recognize Your guardian angels who point the way. Lift them up Father to know and trust You. Lift them up to feel Your weight supporting them, so that they can release their fears into Your capable Hands. Help them to say, “Thank You Father for taking care of this for me.” In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection
Stop this very moment and say, “Thank You Father for taking care of every issue that is presented.” For those of you who are suffering from the belief of depression, I want you to recite with intensity—as though your life depends upon it—the first paragraph of today’s prayer:

Father I pray that the moments that I feel the walls coming in too close, that I reach out for You. I pray that even in darkness, that I see Your light, smile, and praise Your holy name. I pray that when there doesn’t seem to be a solution, that I believe enough in Your power to solve the problem and show me the way through. Right now, everything that is weighing on me, I pray that You will handle them and show me what to do. I know that You never place on me more than I can handle. Thank You Father. Thank You Father. Thank You Father. Thank You!

Now you must believe it to see it and receive it.

Love,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.27.13

…maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving wrongdoing, rebellion, and sin. But He will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.

Exodus 34:7 HCSB

Pray
I ask for forgiveness for all the inconsiderate, unloving, and harmful things that I have done and said. I pray for those who speak and act out of ignorance and fear. I pray for those who don’t realize that what they say and/or do is harmful to others. I pray for those who feel entitled to live by their own rules, regardless of how it impacts others. I pray for those with an elitist mentality. I pray for those who discriminate, hate, abuse, misuse, deceive, and take advantage of others. I pray for those who say that they won’t change, because they are who they are and they won’t change for anyone. I pray for those who use Your name and the name of Jesus to justify the ugly things that they do and say.

Father touch all of our hearts and minds that we might discern darkness from light, truth from lies, love from obsession, love from hate, and the ugliness that comes from racism, bigotry, and discrimination. Let us see clearly those with forked tongues, two-faces, and double-minds, so that we can do our part to help pray for them, re-direct them or steer clear and leave them to You. Father protect us from ourselves.

These things I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pray
We have read and heard modern-day stories of people who have been raised, reared, and nurtured to think and behave as though they are entitled to do and say whatever they want. We have seen people who feel entitled to abuse their title and role. We have seen people who justify in their minds why they beat, tortured, stabbed, raped, molested, robbed, murdered or shot (not in true self-defense) another person. We have even seen people who were first the aggressors and agitators, but later claimed self-defense for their negative and fatal actions.

We have watched crocodile tears of people who claim to be remorseful for wrongdoings, but never actually repent and ask for forgiveness for the thing(s) they are being accused of—instead they narcissistically focus on how an event has negatively impacted them and their loved ones. We have seen examples of people who want to make excuses or blame others for the ignorant things they have done or said. We have seen where people want to use their age or where they live (or grew up) as an excuse for not being sensitive and respectful to other human beings. We have also seen countless examples of people speaking God and Jesus’ name in the same sentence in which they lie, spread hate, and promote the enemy’s agenda.

When someone is being unloving you do not rally around them to sweep what they have done or said under the rug. You are to rally around them and encourage them to do the right thing, and to make right the wrong they have done. You encourage them to stop thinking and reacting for “self”, and to start embracing God’s Light. When they don’t, you are to pray for them and those that they will encounter, and then refuse to promote, reinforce, and support their negative thinking—-and finally, leave the rest up to God.

We are not to be the riot crowd, or crazed zealots, chasing down and aggressively forcing people to conform to our beliefs, just like we aren’t supposed to sit around passively acting as though there is not a battle taking place. The person yelling, “you’re going to hell…” is just as dangerous and ignorant as the one sitting back doing absolutely nothing to help this world be a better, more loving, and more accepting place. The person yelling, “you’re going to hell…” is just as dangerous and ignorant as the racist who makes clear their thoughts and feelings about people of other races not their own.

I will always speak up and speak out when I see hate, ignorance, and/or deception spewing from an individual or an organization.

What you see in the world today should make you want to do your part to help remove blinders from people’s eyes, and help them to love others as Jesus loves us, unless of course you have no intention of being a soldier for Christ. Just a thought.

Loving you always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.26.13

…“The Lord’s will be done! ”

Acts 21:14 HCSB

Pray
Father this has always been the hardest thing to do besides following Your commands—releasing myself to You that Your will be done without any fighting, pleading, persuading, begging, or manipulation on my part. Father only You know what I am truly going through and what I am capable of. Only You know what will or won’t occur and the moment things will take place. Only You know my true strengths and weaknesses, my dreams and desires, and my fears and regrets.

I pray that You look into my heart and help me to release my burdens to You, so that I don’t block or slow up my blessings. I tell myself that I know You have total control and will see me through—strengthen me Father in those moments when fear creeps up and tries to slip in. I pray these things as a believer and sometimes fearful follower of Christ. Amen.

Reflection
How many of you can honestly admit that there have been more times than you can count where you thought you were okay with God handling things, but then somehow someway you had to get involved?

How many of you can honestly admit that every time you have interfered either things made a turn for the worse or your blessings were delayed?

I believe that our minds are extremely powerful. We can convince ourselves into sickness just as we can healing. We can keep saying that we aren’t good at something and eventually we become the worst at that very thing. But we can also believe strongly that we are great at doing something, and even others begin to believe that we are experts in that area.

How many people were told they couldn’t conceive a child, would never walk, wouldn’t live past a few months, would never speak, or couldn’t accomplish another challenging goal—–yet they did, because they believed they could—-whether they believed that God would make a way or they just were positive thinkers—they freed themselves from the bondage that the words “no”, “can’t”, “impossible”, and “risky” presented. They let go of fear and doubt, and embraced faith and hope. They released themselves knowingly or unknowingly over to God. They didn’t allow themselves to be limited by man’s finite capabilities and thought process. Instead God took complete control and made possible the impossible.

I pray for the faith to let go and let God every second of every day I breathe. I have interfered so much and so often that only God, loving and patient, could possibly put up with me. He must laugh every time I try jumping in. He must say, “there goes My daughter again thinking she knows what to do, thinking she can solve this, and thinking she can get it done faster than Me!” God has to have a sense of humor dealing with me.

Look at your life right now. What are you interfering with that you should release fully over to God? Why are you still holding on when you keep getting the same results or worse? Each day release one finger from that double-fisted grip you have on those mounting pressures that keep you up late at night, have you tossing and turning in your sleep, and have you waking up exhausted. One finger at a time. We can do this!

Love,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.25.13

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. “Now concerning that day and hour no one knows — neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son — except the Father only. As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

Matthew 24:35-37 HCSB

Pray
Thank You for bringing Your son to the world to show us the way to You. Father I work each day to strive to be more like Jesus. I don’t want to wait. Mold me Lord. Mold me.

Reflection
We will never know when Jesus returns until the day comes. Only God knows the day, and the amazing thing is, Jesus could be walking amongst us now and we don’t even know it.

So why wouldn’t we treat ourselves and each other the way Jesus taught, and God expects, instead of waiting for a day that may have already passed or may not arrive while we’re still alive?

Something to think about.

Love,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.24.13

For as I passed along and carefully observed your objects of worship, I came also upon an altar with this inscription, To the unknown god. Now what you are already worshiping as unknown, this I set forth to you. The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines.

Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people]. And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

Acts 17:23-28 AMP

Pray
You ask little of me Father, yet I ask for and expect everything from You. I want a long life, excellent health, love from You, love from people, a healthy family, financial wealth, spiritual wealth, a great physique, a comfortable home, nice transportation, attractive clothes, numerous skills, and limitless blessings. Father I apologize for my selfishness. I apologize for making this all about me and what I want.

All that You command is that I follow Your laws and follow Your Son. I apologize for those moments when I put everyone and everything before You, when I allow fear to take ahold of me and dictate my steps, and when I’m emotionally paralyzed and stagnant. I pray that my eyes and heart remain locked on You, and that my steps and words are delivered as You see fit. In Jesus’ name I humbly pray. Amen.

Reflection
Those were profound words spoken by Paul when he said that there’s nothing we can do for God that He can’t do for Himself. There’s nothing we can do for Jesus either, because he was the example for us to follow and model. We need to get our egos and pride out of this or we’ll never see and experience what is in store for us. That’s a sad thought in my opinion—never receiving the greatest gift God could ever give us. Imagine that.

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.21.13

He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. Now then, why are you testing God by putting a yoke on the disciples’ necks that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way they are.”

Acts 15:9-11 HCSB

Pray
Thank You for loving me. May I never disappoint You or weaken the relationship that we have. Redirect me from ever placing expectations on others that I cannot fulfill myself. Guide me away from judging others. Touch my heart before I speak. Forgive me for the wrong I’ve done already today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
God loves all of us. We each have our own unique relationship with Him, but there is no one human or group who receive more of His love than anyone else. Instead of being fixated on what you think God wants, why not listen to your heart and follow your feet; step back from judging and instead embrace others. Have an amazing day and weekend family. Don’t forget that tomorrow is our Saturday Recap.

Lovingly,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.20.13

After they had evangelized that town and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch, strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them, “It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

Acts 14:21, 22 HCSB

Pray
Father I know that times will not always be easy, but I am confident that You will never leave me, so I am comforted in knowing that I am never alone in this journey. Mold me in this process. Remove out of me all things not perfect in Your sight and restore me with Your goodness.

Strengthen me to walk through and past trouble, and not engage with ignorant people. Fill me with optimism and squeeze out the cynicism within me. Surround me with believers and followers so that I may fellowship, learn, and gain wisdom. Help me to be more committed in my walk. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection
Paul, Barnabas, and some of the other disciples knew that there was strength in numbers, so they returned to the towns with more disciples so that they could evangelize to more people, and spread the Word quicker. The growing discipleship also meant that the mission would not end if one or even several of them were jailed, stoned, crucified, or killed—the battle would continue.

Is that your approach for sharing God’s love and Word? Do you openly share your faith with others? Do you let other people know that you are a Christian, believer, and follower of Christ? Do you testify beyond the church walls about the great things God has done for you? Consider how your life would be different if you did these things consistently.

Love your sister in Christ,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.19.13

“Be still, and know that I am God!…”
Psalms 46:10 NLT

Pray
Father thank You for helping me with my fears. Thank You for directing me out of darkness, chaos, and lands where I could become lost. Thank You for helping me through complicated situations, and for steering me clear of negative people. I don’t know everything, but I do know that my blessings only come from You. Thank You Lord.

Reflection
On Monday I journeyed home from Oklahoma City and almost 11 hours into the drive I realized that the rental cars navigation system had me driving two hours in the direction I was trying to avoid. I then followed the suggestion to take another route that conflicted an alternate route my iPhone highlighted. This new route had me backtrack 45 minutes and detour four hours in a direction that I had never driven.

By hour 15 of driving I began to question why I agreed to that route. As I entered a strong storm in the middle of nowhere and in pitch darkness, with limited visibility, I began praying for safety and reassurance. By hour 17 I knew I could no longer drive safely, but was able to get us to Birmingham, Alabama, and to an area of recognizable landmarks, etc. I was grateful that my sister had the courage and strength to drive the remaining 2.5 hours.

I didn’t stop praying until I was snuggled into my bed and drifting to sleep. We made it through that trip safely because of God’s guidance and protection. He kept me calm, focused, and awake. He made it possible for me to see areas that were overshadowed by fog, darkness, and rain.

I am humbled. Can you recall a time in your life where it was totally obvious that it was only because of God that you made it through, reached your goal, overcame an obstacle, or survived an experience? Please share.

Love your sister in Christ,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.18.13

I made it back home safely. The 12-14 hour drive turned into 20 hours, but God’s grace made it possible for me and my family to make the journey without having car issues, getting lost, or needing to stay in a hotel. He is an awesome God! So today I share a message that reminds me that all things are possible only through Him.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“…apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5, NIV

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Jesus put it this way, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” In this passage, He talks about a vine and branches. Just like a vine will die if it is cut apart from the vine, we also won’t survive without being vitally connected to Him.

How do we stay connected? First, by acknowledging Him. By talking to Him. By reading and following His Word. See, when you acknowledge God, that’s a sign of humility. You’re saying, “God, I know You created the whole universe. You flung the stars into space. You tell every raindrop where to fall. I’m not here by accident. You breathed Your life into me. You made me in Your image. You crowned me with Your favor. Now God, I can’t do this without You. I can’t make it on my own. I need You in my life.” When you show that kind of dependency on God, there is nothing He won’t do for you. God will move heaven and earth to get you to where you’re supposed to be.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, today I choose to abide in You. I don’t want to live life on my own, so I choose to trust in You. Show me Your ways. Teach me Your love. Keep me close to You always in Jesus name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.17.13

Traveling back home from Oklahoma City. Pray for me and my family on our 12-15 hour journey.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Pray
Father thank You for the inner peace that calms me even during the most tumultuous of times. I pray for forgiveness during those moments where I verbally and emotionally explode, use offensive language, and act unbecoming of a Christian. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
God can bring and keep you in a peaceful place. Just ask and be open to receive. When life rattles you, turn to Him.

Sunday Sermon Share Day: Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6/16/13

Welcome to Sunday Sermon Share Day for 6/16/13

Today’s sermon comes from Allen Chapel AME in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Today’s Subject is:
Peace in the midst of a storm

Today’s Scripture selections from are:

Mark 4:32-41

Highlights from Today’s Sermon:

It’s difficult to predict what the weather will be. We have seasons and in some areas it’s an even climate year-round. But for many parts there’s rain one day and sunshine the next, fires one day and earthquakes the next. God said we’d have perilous times in the last days. God’s last days aren’t our last days.

If you study the gospel, God’s Word, you would find stability if you follow His word.

Mark is trying to get across to us if we call upon the name of Jesus we can have stability in our lives. If we live in this world we will have storms. If you haven’t been through one then you haven’t lived long enough. Storms aren’t predicable. You can run but you can’t hide.

Man thinks he can do so many great things like go to the moon, build technology, travel the world, and so many other things— but God is the Creator of all.

Our life is finite and transitional.

1. Verse 39

Don’t worry about what others are doing, or what they are doing across town. God is trying to do something different

2. Verse 37—the great storm

Have you ever felt like you have been tossed and driven? How many of you woke up this morning but didn’t want to get out of bed?

Even when Jesus is sleep he has your best interest at hand.

Disciples freaking out thinking the ship would sink but Jesus was resting. Many of us live our lives just like that, we’re constantly thinking that our ships are going to sink.

You must obey God’s commands if you want stability in your lives.

In your life you will have to listen to the command, “peace be still”. When your life is in shambles, peace be still.

1a. Command
In John Hope Franklin’s book “From Slavery to Freedom”
he’s originally from Oklahoma. A system designed to keep us down, we must get our heads out of the sand. Although the world is cruel to us sometimes we must turn to God and keep our heads up.

From slavery to segregation to criminal justice system (locking up our men) 24 million children woke up this morning with no father in the home. When you get arrested with a felony, the felony replaces segregation. Since they can’t discriminate against you legally, there’s a way to do so legally when you are a felon. You can be denied a job, housing, the right to vote, and the opportunity to live in certain areas.

Men stay with your family. Stay in your home. Take care of your family. That is not your baby mama that is your child’s mother. That is not your baby’s daddy, that’s your child’s father.

2a. Control
When you have a calm assurance that Jesus is yours you have control over your circumstances. You believe and know that Jesus is the center of your joy. God made you. He made you in His image. Don’t let someone tell you you’re a nobody. You are somebody. You are a child of God. You are a product of the King. Accept His calm in your life.

3. He cares
Jesus calmed the storm and then asked the disciples why they were so fearful and had no faith.

No matter what they do to me I’m going to stay with the Lord, my church, my family…I’m going to trust in the Lord, I’m going to stay on my bended knees.

They separated the children, the men, husbands and fathers, children from their mothers during slavery—people said we wouldn’t make it but the Father proved otherwise.

Pull your pants up. Pull those britches up.

That’s not your baby’s mama. She’s the mother of your child. Treat her like a woman.

The Pastor of Allen Chapel shared a story about his father who was a bell hop at a hotel for over 30 years carrying the bags of the rich white patrons. He dressed immaculately. He walked with his head up and shoulder’s back. Every time they rang a bell he ran. Every time he was called “boy” he answered. He told his son (pastor) “it doesn’t matter what they call me I know who I am”. When the same rich white man got old and couldn’t run his business he sold it to the pastor’s father. Isn’t that ironic.

Get the book, “The New Jim Crow” By Michelle Alexander. You thought segregation was dead. Segregation just has on a new dress. It tells you why your babies, our babies, are locked up today. We’re having church and business as usual. Every person here is affected by the system.

We must take it seriously. We must be about our Father’s business. We must break out of the walls of the church and minister to God’s children. We must get to the streets to serve, and to bring the people into the church. We come into the church to worship and go in to the community to serve.

Sunday School Highlights Shared by the Youth:

Students learned about: Parable about the Pharisees and tax collectors.

Accepting of God’s children regardless of how they look, what they wear, or how they sound. It doesn’t matter if they don’t have expensive clothes or shoes. It doesn’t matter what they wear on their back or feet. They may not have a suit or dress. When someone walks into church they should not be judged.

All who humble themselves will be exalted.

Now this part you hear from me every Sunday: Be sure to share highlights from sermons at your church or place of worship here on my blog. Feel free to also visit and contribute to our community chat room where we can have healthy, positive, dialogue on the sermon I shared today, Breaking Bread daily posts, or issues impacting the Christian community.

Remember there is absolutely no preaching, passing judgment, converting, recruiting, or focus on any specific church or religious leader. Those are the rules. We’re here to share words of love and peace inspired by the Word of the Bible. We’re here to uplift and never tear down. If you can roll with that, then you can roll with me and the Breaking Bread family! Visit the chat room here:

SATURDAY SPECIAL POST

Then Saul — also called Paul — filled with the Holy Spirit, stared straight at the sorcerer and said, “You son of the Devil, full of all deceit and all fraud, enemy of all righteousness! Won’t you ever stop perverting the straight paths of the Lord?

Acts 13:9, 10 HCSB

Pray
Father protect me from all the things and people that would lead me away from my path. In Jesus’ name I humbly pray. Amen.

Reflection
When there is a plan in life, your test are the obstacles that come before you—do you get distracted or stay on course? Do you procrastinate or move one foot in front of the other? Do you make excuses or get the job done? When things don’t go as planned do you let your world crumble around you, or do you pick yourself up and shake yourself off?

Okay family I hope that you had an amazing week and saw the blessings that came. I hope that you didn’t fall for the worldly trappings that bind us.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is Sunday Sermon Share Day. If you hear or take part in an awesome sermon, please share your notes, highlights, scripture, or reflections with the rest of us. I don’t care if it’s a sermon from an online or televised broadcast, please share with us. I intend to do the same.

Sending love from Oklahoma City!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.14.13

You may say to yourself, ‘My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,’ but remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant He swore to your fathers, as it is today.

Deuteronomy 8:17, 18 HCSB

Pray
Father You are the reason for my talents, gifts, strengths, successes, and blessings. I cannot do anything without You. Thank You for loving me. Thank You Father.

Reflection
It is not you, it is Him.

Sending love from Oklahoma City,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.11.13

He then told them, “Watch out and be on guard against all greed because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”

Luke 12:15 HCSB

Pray
Father protect me from greedy and envious people, people who are desperate, and those who are so focused on their hurt that all they want to do is hurt others. Father protect me from myself during those times when I’m overly focused on money and material possessions, and fearful of things I can’t control, but not reliant upon You to resolve my problems.

Father I pray for the greedy, prideful, arrogant, and tormented. I pray for the sapsuckers who leach off of others and try to sap the Light out of Your children. I pray for the lazy and shiftless. Move them Father. Lift up those who wade in the waters of pity. Restore them to their greatness where their confidence is always in You first. I pray for these things today and always, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
There’s a lot of drama going on in the world, at your workplace, in your family, in your home, and within many of you. Some folks are fighting the darkness of greed, while others are succumbing to it or drowning in it. Some of you wake up, stroll through your day, and go to sleep with envy in your hearts. Some of you are fixated on revenge.

Kicking someone down or stabbing them in the back to elevate yourself gets you no higher than you already were, it’s just your perception that’s been altered. God has a way of leveling all playing fields, if not today trust me it will be one day.

Remember that what goes around always comes back around. Whether you do good or bad, the cycle of life that God has created, must always maintain balance and order. What you put out you receive. Doubt brings slow progress. Evil deeds bring negative consequences. Good deeds brings unlimited blessings. God gives us all choices. Each day you must make a choice.

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.10.13

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6, NKJV

Pray
Father thank You for this reminder. I pray that I begin to turn all things over to You both small and large, simple and complicated, so that I can be free from the shackles I have placed upon myself. There are no limits in Your Mind. I want You completely involved in every aspect of my life. Direct me Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
I was about to start today’s message when another one appeared on my phone, and I truly believe that it was meant for me to read right then (so I obeyed), and I believe it was meant for me to share with others, so I am. I have used today’s Bible passage before (which goes against my custom) but like I said, I obeyed.

Joel and Victoria Osteen wrote:

…The key is that God will only be involved as much as you allow Him to be. Don’t just invite Him into your day on Sunday. Don’t just ask Him about the big things. Learn to hear His voice in the little things. He is big enough to handle every single detail.

There is nothing too big or too small for God, yet oftentimes we doubt Him and ignore His voice. How many of you have heard that small voice in your head tell you to do something or go somewhere (or not), and you listened and obeyed? How many of you can admit that there have been times when you disobeyed?

I can admit it.

Oh the numbers are too large to count and track, but I’ve been hardheaded plenty of times throughout my life, and the results have always left me disappointed.

Don’t walk around being disappointed. If you ask Him, He will answer, if you listen He will guide you, and if you obey there are no disappointments. When I was much younger I asked the question, “How do I know when it’s God’s voice and not the enemy’s?” And the answer I received was so logical that I felt silly yet empowered—If it’s unloving then it’s not God.

The enemy will only direct you to paths of foolishness, pain, embarrassment, destruction, failure, etc. God will never tell you to do or say anything that would cause harm to you or others.

Let’s begin to turn all things over to God. Let’s ask Him for our eyes, ears, and hearts to always be open and receptive, and that we close our mouths more so that we can hear Him—and then what we say will always be more loving.

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.7.13

The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.”

“But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.” But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Acts 9:11-16 NLT

Pray
Father use me, direct me, and open my eyes to see. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
We’re never sure whom God has called upon. We’re never sure how God is using us and others to help the least of His children, and to spread His love and Word. Don’t question Him, just obey.

Have an amazing weekend family!

Love your sister in Christ,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.6.13

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.

1 John 4:11-15 NLT

Pray
Thank You Father. Thank You for all that I am and all that I have. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
Be grateful for the life you have because you could be in a worse situation. There is always someone who has it worse than you, so humble yourself and give praise to God for His loving grace.

Love,

Natasha
