Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 6.3.13

Praise the Lord ! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord ! Praise the Lord !

Psalms 150:1, 2, 6 NLT

Pray
Father You are Good, and everything good that happens to me or that I receive is because of You. You are Love. I am grateful for the love I receive from You, and through Your children. When times get rough or unbearable please touch my heart to not question You, to not be so overwhelmed that I don’t pick myself up quickly and keep marching forward. Strengthen me Lord to know You and to remember that I am Yours, always protected, and always equipped with the tools and skills needed in life. There is no better, greater, stronger, wiser, patient, forgiving, or more loving than You. I love You Father. Amen.

Reflection
People say, “God is good all of the time, and all of the time God is good”, and I want us to stop and really think about this phrase. God is good, not just a doer of good, He is good, and He is goodness. All of the good things that we receive are from God, conceived by God, created by God, and delivered by God. This is a constant and unchanging fact. There is no other source of good. All goodness comes from God.

Then we must go a step farther to remind ourselves that even in times of pain, sorrow, loss, and frustration, God’s goodness surrounds us. God is good to us even at our lowest point. God spares us from a lot of things. God opens our eyes to infinite possibilities, even when in our under-exercised minds, we see limits.

Man diagnoses. God heals. Man puts limits. God has no limits. Man fears and doubts. God is all in all. Man stops. God overcomes.

We rush quickly to man for solutions, healing, reassurance, uplifting, and protection—when we should first turn to God and continue to pray and believe, even when our eyes and minds don’t register the blessings coming our way. When we are healed we give praises to man, not God. When you pray over someone and they are healed, it was not your doing, it was all God.

Being faced with human death opens our eyes to the beauty of life. That ironically is also a gift from God. Things we took for granted we now fully embrace and appreciate. We mourn not just what we had but also what we could have. We keep both feet in the past and the future, without being settled in the present.

When you hear someone say, “God is good all of the time” don’t be so quick to respond, “and all of the time, God is good” without truly and passionately meaning it. If you believe that God is good all of the time, then never a time should you doubt or be angry with Him. If you believe that God’s goodness is never-ending and always present, then you should be free from worry and fear. If you believe that God brings you gifts and blessings, then you should never detour from reaching out to Him in Jesus’ name in prayer—and you should never be so quick to seek man’s medicine over God’s healing ‘touch’.

Yes, it’s true, God IS good and He is good ALL of the time.

Praise Him and share with the world your love for our Heavenly Father. You don’t need to be a minister, preacher, pastor, bishop, priest, or other formalized religious leader to serve God through ministry. You don’t need a title to share God’s love with the masses. You just need to get out there and share!

Happy Monday family. I pray that you have a blessed week. I pray that those who survived the Oklahoma tornadoes (and those from other natural and unnatural disasters) are praising the Lord. I pray that those who lost loved ones to the Oklahoma tornadoes (or other tragic incidents), are praising God for the time that they had with their loved ones, and praying that their loved ones are at peace during their transition. I pray that families lift themselves up and remember that the mission is not over.

If you are a believer then believe. If you are a follower then follow. If you are both a believer and follower, then you know what to do—believe and faithfully follow. I love you all!
