Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 7.25.13

Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it. And God has placed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, managing, various kinds of languages. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in other languages? Do all interpret? But desire the greater gifts. And I will show you an even better way.

1 Corinthians 12:27-31 HCSB

Pray
Father please reveal the gifts You have blessed me with so that I am focused on living the life that You expect of me. Please reveal to my fellow brothers and sisters what their gifts are, so that they can focus on embracing these gifts fully. Please give us discernment so that we can see clearly the frauds who claim to have a gift, while they take advantage of others. Protect us Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
Don’t ask for material things, ask God for the gifts to do your job in service to Him. The material things will come when they come, but underuse or absolute neglect of your gifts leads to struggle and repeat failure—-which could be avoided or reduced significantly if you invested more in Him and less in the superficial. Also, have you ever considered how many people you have been fixated on (like pastors) and wondered how different your life could be if you were fixated on God, and let His servants be the ones who give you high-fives but not be the foundation and supports in your life. Let’s work at putting God first.
