Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.6.13

For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority. You were also circumcised in Him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of the Messiah.

Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses.

He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; He triumphed over them by Him.

Therefore, don’t let anyone judge you in regard to food and drink or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of what was to come; the substance is the Messiah.

Colossians 2:9-17 HCSB

Pray
I work each day to remain focused on Your voice, to follow Jesus the example for all of Your children, and to be the best servant that I can be, without allowing the ways of the world to distract or hold me back. I pray that I have enough love and light within me to refrain from engaging in negativity with and about others, and that people always see the best in me even in my worst of times. Let me not be concerned and consumed by others judgments, for only Yours matter. Keep me aligned with Jesus. Redirect my steps always, and please forgive me when I stumble. I pray to You today as Your humble servant. Amen.

Reflection
God gave Jesus to the world to show us the Who, how, when, where, why, and the what. Jesus delivered us from darkness and continues to deliver us from darkness. He is our undying, never-changing, always faithful gift from God. There is no place and no circumstance where God is not. There is never a time when we can’t call on Jesus to help us deal with our human weakness. There is never a time when God is not listening to us and moving parts to help us navigate through life. There is never a time when God isn’t molding us and helping us to change into His image. God made it possible for us to look down and see Jesus’ footprints beside us.

Just because you don’t see something immediately, doesn’t mean it won’t come to fruition. Your patience is the biggest test second to your faith. How long can you wait to receive the answer to your problem or issue? How long can you wait to see the blessing God has in store for you? The smaller your faith, belief, and patience, the longer it seems to take. Jesus delivered us, now we must do our part. Believe.

Love your sister in Christ,
