Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.14.13

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him: We ask you, brothers, not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits in God’s sanctuary, publicizing that he himself is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 HCSB

Remove the fear and worry from me, mold out of me the desire to worry and contemplate the things that I cannot change, bring about, or create. I pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Don’t focus your attention on what people prophesy about Jesus’ coming. Throughout the Bible it is made clear by Jesus and his disciples that we will never know the day in which he will return and the magnitude that it will have prior to or during his arrival. What we need to instead focus on is doing God’s work as His servants, and let tomorrow be dealt with by God. Trust and believe there’s not enough leeway to change your ways. If Jesus descended today as is described in the Bible, the majority of us wouldn’t be on the “good” list, or the “you get a pass list”. Think about it and then share your thoughts. Before I wrap up let me send happy birthday wishes to my childhood friends DaRon and Ericka who are celebrating their birthdays, one yesterday and one today. I love you both.

Sending you love to all of you from afar,
