Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.13.13

Now in this hope we were saved, yet hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?
 Romans 8:24 HCSB
Father I pray that I may always be content and grateful with whatever blessing You see fit for me to receive. Thank You for protecting me even in my carelessness. Humbly I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
This passage is what I would call, “deep”. Who hopes for what they see? Think about that for a moment. We desire what we see. We even envy what we see. But do we hope for what we see? Can we hope for what we spiritually see?
Is hoping for an end to poverty, racism, sexism, religious persecution possible because it hasn’t taken place, because we can’t “see” it? Hope is very deep. Hope changes people and communities. It can shift paradigms.
Of all the blessings received do you find yourself still yearning for more? Do you see yourself deserving of these gifts or do you at times feel guilty? Are you content where you are and with what you have?
