He said, “Look, I am old and do not know the day of my death.
Genesis 27:2 HCSB
Father since I don’t know my last moments, please warm my heart to live each day with appreciation and gratitude, and touch my heart to always consider how I spend my days and who I spend it with—that way I can leave this level of existence with dignity, and leave my family with peace of mind. In Jesus’ name I humbly pray. Amen.
We never know the day or moment that we will pass from this level of existence. So consider those individuals that you associate with each day. Consider your habits, vices, routines, and patterns of behavior each day.
Ask yourself, “is what I’m doing right now worthy of my last moments on Earth?” Ask yourself, “is this the person (are these the people) that I want to spend my last moments with?”
Consider throughout your day if you were to take your last breath right then, would what you were doing be seen an honorable by your loved ones? If not, you may want to reconsider your activity/engagement, and move on to something more appropriate.
Questions of the Day
1.Look around you right now. If today is your last day, would you be okay passing away doing what you’re doing right now? Are you okay passing away in the presence of whatever individual(s) you are currently with? (If applicable)
