God said, “Let there be a dome in the middle of the waters to separate the waters from each other.” God made the dome and separated the waters under the dome from the waters above the dome. And it happened in that way. God named the dome Sky. There was evening and there was morning: the second day.
Genesis 1:6-8 CEB
Father let me have the vision to see what You want me to see, so that I can speak the things that You have planned for me to receive into existence through prayer and labor. Father don’t let me be overly concerned or overwhelmed by the details, because that is Your area of expertise. Let me be focused instead on believing in and declaring what is to come. In Jesus’ name I humbly pray. Amen.
Yesterday, I showed how God created two things (two tasks). God created the heavens and the earth. But I left out two other things that God created, light and darkness, which He called day and night. So in total, on the first day He performed four major tasks. On the second day He performed one major task, He created the sky.
Now as humans we might fixate on the fact that He only set out to complete one task for the entire day, so maybe some of you aren’t too impressed with small numbers. But then you’re not taking into consideration (and realigning your perspective about) how impossibly huge His task was, and the fact that no human could possibly do any of these things God did and does each day.
No matter how much humans try to be God, we never will be, and it’s such a shame because those precious years are wasted in vain.
Questions of the Day
1. What tasks are on your list for today?
2. What tasks are on your list for tomorrow?
3. What has today’s message shed light on about you and your life?
