Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.25.14

There is a path that may seem straight to someone, but in the end it is the path of death.

Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭25‬ CEB

Pray
Father today I pray for Your children around the U.S. who are hurt, in pain, devastated, and outraged by the Darren Wilson grand jury verdict to not indict, and the fact that Your child Michael Brown’s death will not be brought to a human judge and jury for human justice through the criminal courts system.

I pray for the families of Michael Brown and Darren Wilson. May You bring them peace. I pray for Darren Wilson. You know His heart and only You know the Truth.

Father I pray for Your children’s peace as many are inclined and have acted out violently in the streets, burning and looting private and public property as so-called solidarity for Michael.

Touch their hearts Father. Help them to see that You are ultimately the only judge, jury, and executioner–and that Your laws far surpasses man’s. Help them to see that although this is a shocking blindsided moment for them, You have never been left in the dark. Father show them the way to Your light, because right now they are only focused on darkness. I humbly pray this to You as a believer in Christ, seeking each day to follow faithfully. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
We’re saddened, shocked, disturbed, and outraged by the lack of human justice displayed as the grand jury decided against an indictment. But no matter how we feel we should never take out our pain on others. We should never loot, burn, and destroy someone else’s property. We should never take part in the destruction of our community. Our home. That was God’s gift to us, shelter, that we obviously take for granted–if not, we wouldn’t ever consider destroying it.

We also shouldn’t be inclined to sabotage and destroy the resources made available to us in those communities. Looting and burning stores, gas stations, hair salons, and the like, only harm us and our community even more. The violent theft and destruction of these businesses means they can’t serve the community anytime soon or ever. It means little to no jobs. It means less resources available in the community.

Please join me in prayer for every human soul touched by this case. Those outraged as well as those celebrating the freedom of Darren Wilson, need prayer. The enemy is working overtime and we need to stand together and say, “no way, no how, not gonna happen!”

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.24.14

It’s no Surprise to God

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ ”
(Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
In life, we all experience things that are unexpected. But when something unplanned happens, we have to realize that it’s no surprise to God.

Maybe you are dealing with some sort of loss. It hit you unexpectedly. You could be discouraged and overwhelmed and say, “I can’t believe this is happening.” No, have a new perspective. That situation is no surprise to God. It didn’t catch Him off guard. He has already anointed you. You have the strength you need. You have the peace, the determination, the confidence. You’re not lacking. You’re anointed! The forces that are for you are greater than the forces that are against you.

In those difficult times, trust that God will see you through. Believe that His plans for your future are for good. Know that even though something caught you off guard, it didn’t catch God off guard. He is prepared and ready to lead you to the place of victory.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your hand of goodness on my life. I know that You see every unexpected and uncertain circumstance in my life. I trust that You will go before me and prepare the way for victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Natasha’s Reflection
Last weekend I made the decision to take a trip to my home state of California so I could relax, spend quality time with family, and see a few friends. The day I decided to go I ended up getting sick with hay wired symptoms but I was still determined to go. So I got plenty of rest and allowed my body the time to heal. The next day I felt better and boarded the plane.

But last Tuesday I found myself in the emergency room at a California hospital. My body was out of wack. After four hours of testing my results came back almost perfect. On paper I was probably the healthiest person there. So what was going on with my body? Doctor’s best guess was stress.

I was caught off guard but God wasn’t. I hadn’t been listening to Him or my body. I had been going through some personal battles that were taking its toll on me mentally and emotionally, and I wasn’t paying attention to the physical manifestation. But a visit to the ER got me to listen.

I spoke with my mom and aunt Debbie that day and the next. They prayed for me and gave me spiritual and plain-and-simple human counsel. I needed to stop participating in the chaos, and just listen and obey God.

So I took it extremely slow the rest of the week. I got plenty of rest each day and didn’t boggle myself down with schedules and a mounting workload. I just allowed myself the space and time to breathe.

I tuned into my instincts, my gut feeling, that still small voice within—all of which is God. I took the counsel of my beloved aunt Debbie and let God guide me every step of my day, doing what felt right (God’s standards) not just what felt good (human instant gratification).

By doing what felt right I always felt good. By being obedient I was rewarded with internal peace, which gave me joy.

That was the balance, the peace, the wholeness I was missing. That is what I needed to deal with personal battles. That is the reason I got blindsided. But God has me so I’m more than just okay, I’m good. I’m heading to great. I’m listening more, obeying more, walking farther, and I’m starting to breathe.

Natasha’s Questions of the Day
1.What do you think about today’s message?
2. What has recently blindsided you?
3. What have you been battling long-term that you now are beginning to see from a different lens?
4. What are you dealing with that you’re not at peace with?
5. What things, issues, circumstances, and/or people are you ready to turn over to God, you just don’t know how?
6. Are any of your emotional and mental ‘stuff’ manifesting as physical ‘junk’?

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.10.14

Before you begin reading today’s message please say a prayer for the founder of the Bahamas Faith Ministeries, Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife of 35 years, Mrs. Ruth Munroe, their senior Vice President and pastor, Richard Pinder, and the other six unidentified passengers (the two pilots, and possibly even Dr. and Mrs. Munroe’s daughter) aboard the private jet that crashed upon landing in the Bahamas yesterday while on their way to a Christian Global Forum that Dr. Munroe organized.

Pray for their souls, and for their loved ones who are going through a devastating time. In honor of Dr. Munroe his forum is continuing today but being shortened by half a day, as it was said that Dr. Munroe would have wanted it that way.

You don’t have to personally know someone to pray for them and their loved ones. Prayer lifts. Prayer heals.

When the Storms Come

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.””
(Matthew 7:25, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
We all go through difficulties and things we don’t understand. It’s easy to get discouraged and think, “Why am I having these problems?” The scripture says, “Rain falls on the just and the unjust.” No matter how good a person you are; no matter how much you honor God, you are going to have some rain.

Jesus told a parable about a wise man who built his house on the rock. He honored God. Another man built his house on the sand. He didn’t. The winds blew. The rains beat on the houses. The same storm came to both people, the just and the unjust. If the story ended right there, you would think, “It doesn’t make a difference to honor God. The same thing happens to me that happens to everybody else. I built my house on the rock, yet I’m in this storm.”

But, that’s not the end of the story. Jesus went on to tell that the man who built his house on the rock, his house was still standing after the storm. The man who built on the sand, his house washed away. Here’s the difference. When you honor God, the storms may come, but you have a promise that others don’t have. When it’s all said and done, you’ll still be standing!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for the promise to bring me through every difficulty, hardship and adversity I may face. I receive Your strength; I receive Your victory knowing that my house is built on the Rock in Jesus’ name! Amen!
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Natasha’s Reflection
Storms come and go, but only the faithful who honor God, continue standing afterwards. Today’s message from Joel and Victoria Osteen has been helpful in reassuring me about things going on in my life. I hope it does the same for you!

We all must go through the storm, it’s a matter of what you built your foundation upon and what you put your faith in each day. Are you the person planted firmly on the rock or in the sand, waiting to be washed away?

If you’re on sand, what will it take for you to change your thinking, your heart, and your ways to move your “house” on a rock, or just move and rebuild on a rock?

I’m going through a storm right now and I have faith that I will make it through because I humbly believe in God’s Power, Presence, Love, and guiding Light. I believe that even if others built around me using sand, my foundation as built on a rock in honor of our Heavenly Father. So I have my rain gear on and I’m going to smile through this storm, thanking God each and every day!

Natasha’s Questions of the Day
1.What do you think about today’s message?
2. How do you intend to honor God today?
3. Is your “house” built on a rock in honor of God, or sand in honor of yourself (or someone or something else)?
4. What storm are you currently going through that you hope to still be standing afterward?
5. Do you see why you must go through this and other storms?
6. What do you think is the purpose of these storms?

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.6.14

The Lord’s eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on evil and good people. Wholesome speech is a tree of life, but dishonest talk breaks the spirit. A fool doesn’t like a father’s instruction, but those who heed correction are mature. Great treasure is in the house of the righteous, but the gain of the wicked brings trouble.

Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭3-6‬ CEB

Pray
Protect me from evil Father. Protect me from the plots and plans of darkness. Help me to always see Your light even in the darkest places and through the darkest of times. I ask for the Holy Spirit to walk before me so that I might have certainty of safe passage. Mold me Father. Mold out of me what You don’t like, and mold into me what You desire. I know this process won’t be easy but I have faith in the outcome. All I want is to do right by You and serve You to the fullest in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Reflection
There is nothing that God doesn’t see, hear, or understand. Always turn to Him to see you through every circumstance. Ask Him to fine tune your vision and hearing so that you are receptive to His voice and signs, while also well-positioned when under attack by the enemy. There is nothing the enemy and its puppets can do to you when you keep God’s shield in front of you.
Questions of the Day
1. What would you like to thank God for today?
2. How do you intend to be a blessing to others today?
3. What would you like for someone to pray for on your behalf?
4. What are you struggling to let go of and surrender to God?
5. What would make you feel more comfortable so that you can let go and let God?

Set the Blessing in Motion

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
(Luke 6:38, ESV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
God is a god of abundance! He wants to pour out His abundance on you until you are so full that you are running over with His goodness. Notice how this verse starts. It says, “Give, and it will be given to you.” That’s because your giving sets the blessing of God into motion in your life. Giving is like a seed.

When you plant an apple seed, it doesn’t just grow a single fruit. That one seed grows into a tree that produces an abundance of apples! That’s what happens when you obey God in your giving. You receive an abundant harvest in return. It’s overflowing, literally “running over!” And when the blessing is running over, it means you have so much that you want to give more. The cycle just keeps repeating itself! Is there something the Lord is telling you to give today? It could be financial, material or even your talents and service to others.

What do you have in your hand that you can use to bless someone else? Take a step today and set the blessing of God into motion in your life. Open the door for His blessing to be running over in every area of your life today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I choose to obey Your Word. I choose to be a tither and a giver. I choose to obey Your word and step out in faith knowing that every seed I sow will come back in abundance in Jesus’ name! Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.4.14

God, hear my voice when I complain. Protect my life from the terror of the enemy. Hide me from the scheming of wicked people, from the mob of evildoers, who sharpen their tongues like swords and aim bitter words like arrows, shooting from concealed places at the innocent.

They shoot at him suddenly and are not afraid. They encourage each other in an evil plan; they talk about hiding traps and say, “Who will see them? ” They devise crimes and say, “We have perfected a secret plan.” The inner man and the heart are mysterious.

But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly, they will be wounded. They will be made to stumble; their own tongues work against them. All who see them will shake their heads. Then everyone will fear and will tell about God’s work, for they will understand what He has done. The righteous one rejoices in the Lord and takes refuge in Him; all those who are upright in heart will offer praise.

Psalms‬ ‭64‬:‭1-10‬ HCSB

Pray
Father protect me from my enemies. Protect me from those who plan to harm me. Protect me from those people who plot against me. I trust in You Father, knowing that all that comes my way will always be made right by You. I know that You can and will restore and make whole all things in my life, including me. I know that I can have bigger and better through You. So I choose my faith rather than a sense of fear, to comfort me, thanking You now for Your loving protection and renewal. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection
I’ve been going through some extremely tough times over the past several months and especially now, and it is only my faith in and love for God that keeps me going strong each day. I have discovered some devastating news about a group of people who I trusted in and I made decisions in my life based on my trust in them, just to find out that it all has been a plot against me for their own personal gain.

It is only my belief in Jesus that gives me courage. It’s God’s Word that brings me comfort and vision of greatness in my life. Those who would intend harm, those who would harm just to protect their self interests, and those who are currently plotting against me do not have power over me, only God does. See they don’t know what I know about my relationship with God. God has brought me through and out of some dark periods in my life. God rescued me from death as a child. God rescued me from abusive relationships. God delivered me out of an environment that contradicted His promise. God delivered me from much more than what this group of people could ever do to me.

So while this group plots against me thinking that they have the upper hand, I smile, because I know the truth. I know that only God has that hand. Only God determines my future. I will always be more than okay because God is my protector, provider, and my everything. While these individuals work for satan, I stand firmly in God’s Love, Light, and Truth. I’m a soldier for Christ. So I tell these people “bring it!” because I know that God can and will handle them. Matter of fact, I know that He already has!

It doesn’t matter what someone else plots and plans against you. Even in their perceived success, they still fail, because God will always make right the wrong. Trust that God has not just your back, but every side of you that could come under attack.

Questions of the Day
1.What do you think about today’s message?
2. Do you have a testimony that you would like to share related to today’s message? Please share.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 11.3.14

Nothing Wasted

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’ ”
(John 6:12, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
The Bible tells of a time when Jesus fed a crowd of five thousand with only five loaves and two fishes. He blessed it and multiplied it. That day, everyone had more than enough to eat, and there were still twelve baskets full of bread and fish left over. That’s because we serve a God of abundance! Then Jesus told the disciples to collect all the leftovers “so that nothing is wasted.” With God, nothing is ever wasted. He’ll never waste an experience; He’ll never waste a hurt; He’ll never waste a dream; He’ll never waste even a single piece of bread.

If you’ve felt like you’ve wasted years of your life in the wrong job, hanging around the wrong people or doing the wrong things, God will gather those years and restore them to you. He’ll take those experiences that the enemy meant for your harm and turn them around for your good. He’ll make you stronger, wiser and better off than you were before. He can launch you further into your destiny than before. Be encouraged today because with God, all things are possible! He is your provider, and nothing is ever wasted!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I give You every bit of my life, my past, my present and my future. Thank You for taking every experience and turning it around for my good. I know that with You, nothing is ever wasted in Jesus’ name! Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Natasha’s Reflection
Every single thing that you’re going through will be made whole in the end thanks to God. Our pain will turn into our strength, our loss will be our gain, and being deceived will eventually provide us vision and discernment. So continue to praise Him through each day, for God always makes right the wrong and restores the broken.

Questions of the Day
1. What does today’s message mean to you?
2. Why do you agree or disagree with today’s message that God will make right even the worst offenses against you?
3. Share a time when you saw God’s work in action in your life?
