Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 7.24.15

Scripture
“Everything you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.
But you coat the truth with lies; you are all worthless doctors. If only you would shut up and let that be your wisdom! Hear now my argument, and listen to my defense.
Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ash; your defenses are made of clay. Be quiet, and I will speak. Let whatever comes happen to me. Why do I put myself at risk and take my life in my own hands? Even if He kills me, I will hope in Him. I will still defend my ways before Him. Yes, this will result in my deliverance, for no godless person can appear before Him.
Now then, I have prepared my case; I know that I am right. Can anyone indict me? If so, I will be silent and die.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭13:2, 4-6, 12-16, 18-19‬ ‭HCSB‬‬
Pray
Father I am still. Thank You!

Reflection
We ask “why” and “how” for what reason exactly? To make sense of something far greater than we could ever be, but in our limited thinking and capacity we still find possible.
Or is it that we just yearn to hear a majestic baritone voice, radiantly clear, rocking us to our core, until we surrender in obedience? We want from God something that we can’t even provide. We want Him to give even that which we won’t. How ironic is that?
