Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 9.10.15

Scripture

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you.

Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

Pray
Father let me take pause, let go of the steering wheel that I keep trying to control, and just let You do You. In Jesus’ name I pray for peace, strength, courage, and contentment. Go before me Father. Amen.

Reflection
Today I started out by reading this scripture and a powerful resolution tied to it that said that all of our decisions, tasks, relationships, and daily life elements have already been matched up to an equivalence of God’s overflowing supply of grace.

A few moments ago I was hit with a double whammy of news that almost knocked me over. It was news that directly impacts my career and my livelihood, and I was basically told by the person on the other end of the phone that my only option was their option.

It felt like my heart and lungs simultaneously fell down through my stomach and landed on my feet. Everything that I’ve been working so hard for, invested so much in, has basically been for short-term gain, and the only way I can gain more is to take a path that is long, painful, unfair, and in my opinion unethical.

After crying, almost uncontrollably, for roughly 10 minutes, I pulled myself together. I washed my face and looked closely at myself in the mirror. If I’m God’s child then I know what I must do. I can’t wallow in self-pity. I can’t ball up and cry all day and all night. I can’t be the victim. If I say that I believe in God and His ability to do all things, and make all things right, then I must walk the walk. No one said it would be easy. But it’s definitely going to be worth it.

I’m walking!
