Scripture Psalm 143:10
Father I have but one God, and that is You. You are my all in all, my Creator, Healer, Nurturer, Father, Mother, Provider, Protector, Strengthener, and so much more. I am complete because of You. I pray to always see and follow Your lead. Amen.
I’ve been reflecting on a quote by Mary Baker Eddy, in her spiritual textbook, Science and Health With Keys to the Scriptures, where she says: “Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God. Spirit names and blesses all.”
God, Spirit, feeds and clothes (spiritually and in the human sense, also literally) every creation that He has made-providing for, protecting, and nurturing us–as we now see through the daily actions of engaged human parents–He is our Father and Mother, and through Him our human parents attempt to display these qualities; and those of us who are (or one day pray to become) parents to children, strive to also mirror these qualities and behaviors.
There is no greater protector, nurturer, lover, giver, provider, or healer anywhere, than God. We call His name first and last, in sorrow and in joy. So it is He that we should align our heads and hearts to follow. The path that He places us upon is the same path we should obediently follow, even when it narrows, twists and turns, comes close to steep drops, and is challenging to ascend or descend. Keep walking with eyes forward, with faith, that He will order your steps.
If only there was an app for that!
Yes, I’m being funny…so don’t get all high and mighty with me. I truly believe that God has a great sense of humor. So I allow mine to let loose. If He didn’t have a sense of humor, then more than half of us would’ve been swallowed up in some Old Testament pit by now. Consider that.
Sending loving thoughts to each of you.
