“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?”
Psalms 139:1-4, 6-7 ESV
There is no place where You are not Father. There is no thought or deed that can be hidden from You. You know my heart as You know all of Your children’s hearts. You’re always with me Father, and I’m eternally grateful for Your loving presence. Thank You for never being casual about our relationship, as I have countless times. Humbly I give thanks. Amen.
Do you remember playing the game hide-and-seek as a child?
You had so many seconds to find what you thought to be the perfect hiding space, and there you waited until discovered or the game was over.
Now imagine this…
There is no hiding place from God. There’s no where in the world, Galaxy, universe, or anywhere else that you can imagine, where you can go and be away from God. There’s no place where He can’t find you, can’t hear you, or can’t help you. Even when you’re deep within your mind and no other human can seem to reach you, God is there. In our darkest hour, paralyzingly depressed, feeling completely alone…God is there with us.
