Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.26.16

Scripture

2 Timothy 1:9

Pray

I’m grateful for today. Another day I did not deserve, another day that I did not earn, another day that You chose to gift to me. Thank You Father. Before You created me, human life, plants and animals, this planet and galaxies far and near—You already knew what You were going to do and which of Your children You would call to serve, and how they would serve. All of this is too much for me to comprehend and I can accept this. I just want to say thank You Father for everything. Amen.

Reflection

Looking at the history of the human race, reflect on the ups and downs that God has steered His children through. Think about the leaders that He’s brought to serve and guide us. Be warmed by the thought of our Savior Jesus Christ. We love because God first loved us. We forgive because God forgives us. We trust because Jesus showed us how. We give because we receive. Imagine what else God has planned for us. Live today fully, it’s a gift.

Questions of the Day
1. What would you like to add to today’s prayer and/or reflection?

2. What are your thoughts about today’s message?

3. With all of the negativity, pain, and darkness that we see and experience in the world, it can be difficult to see and appreciate the beauty around us. But take a moment to share some of the greatness that you see today around the world, your neighborhood, etc. Why do you think you still have hope for humanity and the world?

Feel free to share your answers, prayers, comments, and reflections in the comment section below. You can also send me an email at: breakingbreadwithnatasha@gmail.com

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.25.16

Scripture

John 7:38

Pray

I’m trying Father. You know I am. You know my heart. Help me to be more focused so that I can stop procrastinating, get more work done, and worry less. Turn me from the negativity that consumes me. Show me other ways to stand up against the evils of the world, rather than fall for the tricks that will have me wallowing in the gunk of misery. Strengthen me Lord so that I’m better prepared for this battle field. Turn my eyes, mind, and heart towards You Father. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection

We believe in the power of wind, water, heat, and sound. We have no doubt that they can help to heal, and their power can also bring much harm. Water is cleansing, hydrating and nurturing. We have faith in this fact. A flood of water can bring devastation. We don’t doubt this one bit. Wind can provide us energy, cools us off on a hot day, clears the impurities in the air, and helps to spread seeds for pollination. Wind at high speeds can also destroy buildings, homes, property, and lives. We can all agree on these points. There’s no need to break down the capabilities of heat and sound. I believe you get the point. We know the power of these sources. We know what they can do. We trust and believe that wind, water, heat, and sound will not fail. Yet, we doubt God…the Creator of all four things. Imagine that. We have a lot of work to do to realign our thinking and actions. We cannot continue to place more faith in the creations than we do the Creator.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.24.16

Scripture

Psalm 73:26

Pray

Father You are my constant. Thank You for never failing me, even when I fail You. Thank You for loving me, even when I’m not loving to myself or others. Thank You for blessing me, even when I’m worrying and doubting. You strengthen me Father. I don’t know what I would do without You. Thank You!

Reflection

Everything and everyone around us will let us down and fail us. God is consistent, omnipresent, and always on time. We need to worry less and believe more.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.14.16

Scripture

James 3:16

Pray

Touch our hearts Father so that we might align more with You, and cast away the dark layers that are blinding us. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection

Arrogance, selfishness, pride, greed, envy, and jealousy, eat away at us and we don’t realize how much we change.  When we hear and when we say, “wow that’s not the person I know”, it’s those layers of darkness that are morphing us into unrecognizable molds. The more we steer away from God the less recognizable we are to those who know us best.

Thank goodness for us that God never forgets who we are and is never confused about who we are and Whom we belong.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.13.16

Scripture

Psalm 119:7

Pray

My selfishness makes gaping holes in my prayers and promises. Doubt makes my prayers conditional and half-hopeful. When I praise You, You know it’s real. I just want to reach that point where I praise You not only during the good times, but even during the worse storms. Guide my heart Father. Amen.

Reflection

Your heart says it all, leads your head and motivates your mouth. So don’t just praise God in a rudimentary fashion, like reciting a nursery rhyme. Praise from your heart, where it’s most sincere.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.12.16

Scripture

Psalm 34:8

Pray

I breathe in life and air because of You Father. My senses are Your gifts. My experiences are paths to learned lessons. I seek You for all things good, thank You in advance, and praise You always. Amen.

Reflection

I cry out to, sing about, and thank each day our Heavenly Father Mother God. Why look elsewhere when refuge surrounds you? Don’t get lost in the details of the world. Remain focused and steadfast on Him.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.11.16

Scripture

Isaiah 26:4

Pray

I know You’re not going anywhere Lord. My constant. My rock. My fortress. My shield. I will love You always and forever. Amen.

Reflection

Since I was a small child I’ve been fascinated by rocks. Their solid structure has so much character. Each rock has a story. Rocks symbolize strength, resilience, perseverance, a foundation, and longevity. Look at those words I just used to describe a rock. Now think about God and your relationship with Him. He’s not going anywhere!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.10.16

Scripture

Matthew 24:35

Pray

I can count on Your words to comfort and guide me, even with the world around seems to constantly be changing. You are my constant, my rock, my forever. I love You Father!

Reflection

God let’s us know that things, people, and places will change, but He won’t. He never has and never will. We can count on His Word and count on His presence in our lives. Even those days when doubt creeps up and slips in, His Word should settle us. That should bring you some comfort, even right now, thinking about that Truth. It warms me and brings a smile to my face.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 10.3.16

Scripture

Pray

I praise You Father. Thank You for this day, days past, and whatever You have chosen to bless me with in the future. I don’t take for granted the time You have given me. I love You Father. Forever Your humble servant I pray to You. Amen.

Reflection

The scripture says that we should be hopeful, patient and prayerful. Never giving up hope even through the worse of times, means we need to stay ‘prayed up’. But steadfast doesn’t mean fearful. When you’re filled with hope and you wait patiently, then fear doesn’t overcome and paralyze you. It should actually motivate you to pray more, until hope brings still your ‘storm’.
