Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 1.24.17

Scripture

Philippians 4:13

Prayer

Father, You always show up and show out, and make me feel like dancing. Those small things are so big and those big this are enormous, and those enormous things leave me speechless.

Today I opened my eyes, took in a deep breath, stretched, and my first thought was and always is You!

Thank You for being my foundation, my rock, my everything. Thank You for placing people in my life that inspire, challenge, and uplift me. Thank You for the discernment to see clearly who was and is against me. Thank You for showing me their plots and plans, so that I’m not derailed from moving forward on the path You have set before me.

With You I can do all things according to Your plan. With You I can see why oftentimes my plans fall short of success. I will continue to follow Your Light. I praise You now and I will praise You after this storm has cleared. You are mighty Father. You are mighty!

Reflection

As I type this message, the sun light has grown more intense from outside. It feels as though the rays have concentrated power towards me. It is energizing. It is absolutely beautiful how blinding it is right now. I literally cannot look outside, because where I’m sitting, it’s just too bright. So guess what? I’m not going to move one inch. I’m going to bask in this sunlight.

 It’s God’s creation and it’s absolutely breathtaking.

We sometimes take for granted the creations God has gifted us with, and we should be ashamed. He’s given us things we don’t deserve, didn’t earn, and can’t possibly make or provide for ourselves. Wow, talk about a bunch of entitled engrates. We shouldn’t only show gratitude upon receiving a gift, and concern upon losing the gift. We should always be grateful and concerned about maintaining and taking care of that gift. We have been entrusted to be the caretaker of the gift, yet we are quick to grow tired, disillusioned, or take for granted what we have.

We’re happy when the sun shines brightly, but complain when it’s “too hot“, then the coolness we sought while in the heat, we now complain that it’s “too cold and unbearable“.

What we fail to realize is that both gifts of hot and cold are not just for our benefit. They serve a purpose of molding and protecting the planet we live on, and providing the animals and creatures that live amongst us their necessary life cycles. All of God’s creations are interconnected. We need to step off of our self-made thrones and fall in line with God’s plan, and our role in it!

So when the heat comes, we need to praise Him. When the cold comes, we need to praise Him. Through the storms, let’s praise Him.

It is not our material possessions that make us, define us, and prove our success or our wealth. It is our humble walk with God, and our ability to reflect His Light through all circumstances—all while praising Him. Let’s not fool ourselves into believing that our possessions were attained by our doing, and not by His. God always has a way of reminding you Who’s God!
