Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.27.17

Scripture

Psalm 30:11

Prayer

Father thank You for another day of life, love, and blessings. I praise You Father. I love You more each day. Thank You for my overflowing cup.

Reflection

I refuse to mourn long, cry long, worry long, or complain much. If God can’t solve my problems and heal my wounds, then what could I possibly do? I know better. Since I have faith in God, I try to remember His power, greatness, and reach—and I try to remember that there are no accidents or coincidences, because everything happens for a reason.

Once I get past my human limitations and see through a spiritual lens then I can turn my mourning into praise and dance, and remove the mental and emotional shackles—to be free to embrace the gift of joy.

I will smile through my pain because I’m anticipating the “next” moment, day, experience, and lesson in my life. I will not let pain be my sackcloth.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.9.17

Scripture

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless ?
21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
James 2:14-24

Prayer

Father thank You for another day. Thank You for my life and for all of the ways that You have blessed me. Father I’m working on consistently walking the walk and not just talking the talk. I’m working to be grateful and praise You long before I receive a blessing. Help me to be more committed to and less fearful of this journey. I don’t want to disappoint You Father. I humbly ask for discernment to see all that You want me to see. I thank You now for Your help Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

James 2:14-24

Reflection

It’s not good enough to say you believe or that you have faith–are you walking the walk, or just talking? Your actions speaks volumes about you, and your commitment to the Lord. Don’t just say what you think God wants to hear. Start putting in the work that you know He wants to see. If you believe–prove it through your walk each day!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.8.17

Scripture

9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.

Prayer

1 Peter 3:9-11

Reflection

There’s an old saying, “kill them with kindness”, and it really does work—when someone is on the attack, negative, and looking for an excuse to fight you, don’t seek out revenge, instead find the calm to not react negatively. Have you ever noticed that when you repay evil with evil and insult with insult, that your energy is drained, and your peace and joy almost disappear? While you’re busy beating up on someone else, you’re draining and beating up on yourself. It’s important to focus on your inner peace and holding on tightly, as though your life depends on it–and it really does–because how can your body possibly remain healthy if it’s constantly under stress and boiling internally from built-up anger and resentment.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 2.7.17

Scripture                                                                                                                                                             If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 12:18

Prayer

Father warm my heart so that I can be more receptive to others, forgiving of those who have wronged me, and live at peace with everyone. Hold my tongue before I say something unloving, unkind, and not a reflection of You. Speak through me Father. I pray for internal peace knowing that what I project outwards comes from within. I humbly ask that You provide for me all that You want, and if it is not Your will, then I don’t want it.

Reflection

You can’t control other people, so you can’t force someone to be loving and peaceful with you. But you can control yourself. Your behavior is determined on your self-control or lack of it, so take ownership for the things you say and do to yourself and to others. Be the adult that you say you are, seek peace, so that you can be at peace.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.6.17

Scripture

2 Thessalonians 3:3

Prayer

Thank You Father for today, for the blessings that You have given me, for another day of experiences and lessons, and most importantly I want to thank You for Your love. I love You Lord.

Father, You know what I’m going through, the wave of emotions that I experience, and where and when I’m weakest. You know my heart and my intentions.

Please warm my heart so that it never grows cold and closed. I pray that I’m receptive to others love, kindness, and respect. I pray that I always find a way to forgive, so that I don’t carry around the heavy burden of a grudge.

Strengthen me Father. Fill me with courage, joy, peace, love, and Your Light. Help me through these unknown times. Help me when I feel weak, tired, hurt, ashamed, lonely, or frustrated. Lift me up Father. I pray to You, as a humble servant. Amen.

Reflection

Feel weak? Speak with God.

Feel tired? Speak with God.

Feel angry? Speak with God.

Feel betrayed? Speak with God.

Feel overwhelmed? Speak with God.

Feel grateful? Speak with God.

Excited about life? Speak with God.

Whatever you’re going through (in life), you need to make God the top priority, as your number one advisor that you speak to first and last about all things. Turn to him for strength, comfort, courage, an extra boost of energy, and peace.

God is our source for love, peace, joy and happiness, so stop treating your fellow humans as though they are your source.

Our esteem and worth come from Him. Turn to Him. Speak with Him, silently or aloud. Prayer should be a conversation that doesn’t take work and effort to achieve. It should flow from you like a natural conversation with a family member or friend. It doesn’t need to be lengthy or poetic to make an impact. God hears us and our thoughts.

Speak with Him.
