Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.8.17

Scripture

9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.

Prayer

1 Peter 3:9-11

Reflection

There’s an old saying, “kill them with kindness”, and it really does work—when someone is on the attack, negative, and looking for an excuse to fight you, don’t seek out revenge, instead find the calm to not react negatively. Have you ever noticed that when you repay evil with evil and insult with insult, that your energy is drained, and your peace and joy almost disappear? While you’re busy beating up on someone else, you’re draining and beating up on yourself. It’s important to focus on your inner peace and holding on tightly, as though your life depends on it–and it really does–because how can your body possibly remain healthy if it’s constantly under stress and boiling internally from built-up anger and resentment.
