Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.30.17

Scripture

Mark 11:17-18

Prayer

Father I pray for discernment, strength, courage, a heart that remains warm and open, and a mind not paralyzed by fear or hampered by lack of a daily challenge. I pray to be obedient even when I can’t see the path, help me to walk Father, even if others don’t. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection

Not everyone will see where you are, where you’re going, or what God has in store for you. It’s not up to you to show and prove anything to them. Just keep walking. Understand that some people will grow to fear you and in their fear they may try to stop, derail, discredit, and destroy you. Just keep walking. God always handles those who stand in the way of His plan. Just keep walking.

Jesus had hundreds of followers, disciples that said they were faithful and committed. Look at how many he had towards the end of his earthly journey. Roughly 12. Look how many stepped up and stood beside him when he was hauled away by the soldiers. Zip. Zero.

One sold him out for some silver, that he later threw back at the men who convinced him to sell out. One denied him three times after swearing he would never deny his Lord. Others turned away in fear. Others fled in shame and guilt.

Oddly enough, it was the women in his life who walked near by, praying. It was these same women returning to his tomb to pray and seek solace in loss. Mary was the one who ran to his disciples to share his resurrection and they doubted her. The same men who swore an allegiance. They were weak. While the woman so many doubted and judged, was the faithful and strong. Jesus appeared before the disciples and they doubted it was him until they physically touched him.

Some people just aren’t ready for what you’re doing, where you’re going, and how God needs to use you. Keep walking. They will eventually get it, or not—either way, don’t let it stop you. Keep walking. God will handle the details and particulars. Do what you’re supposed to do.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.29.17

Scripture

Psalm 90:12

Prayer

Father I know that my time here, in this body, in this state of being, is only temporary. I pray that I resist the temptation to waste moments being petty, trivial, lazy, spiteful, depressed, or negative. Let me seize each moment, counting the days and remembering that each day wasted is a day taken away. I want to make the most of my life Father. I want to see, hear, taste, feel, smell, learn, and experience new things each day.

I want to do all that I can do to help others, connect with others, learn from others, and give as You instruct.  I don’t want to take my last breath with regrets about what I coulda, shoulda, woulda. Each moment that I’m wasting, please touch me and lovingly remind me that the moment is about to slip away, and soon another day will be beyond my grasp. I humbly pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection

Let me start off by thanking my mother for sharing today and yesterday’s scriptures. She had no clue I would share them here, but she’ll see and know that her obedience in sharing has helped others. I pray that my mother ingests the Word in a way that allows her to seize each moment so that she can have full, robust, and rewarding days and memories. I pray for this same blessing for each of you.

My aunt Debborah taught me (a few months ago) to focus on the moments in each day. She said that when people focus on the day itself, too much time is wasted because it can be overwhelming. However, when we grasp ahold of each moment while we’re in it, and we navigate through that moment, to the next moment, then we eventually find ourselves having richer and fuller days, and lives.

It’s no different than our too-big-to-accomplish daily task list. Why do we torture ourselves with a 10-plus item task list? Even when we turn to the good Book, it shows that God did one to three things each day to provide what we call creation. Now we don’t know if it’s true or not. He could’ve done 100 things on one given day. But the reality is, we’re not God, we keep dropping the ball with our manic obsession of 10-plus tasks, when less than 5 major tasks per day is considerably more reasonable.

We get consumed and lost in our days and we don’t get the chance to seize each moment because we’re too busy zooming on to something else. So we miss moments within our days, like the flirting glance or shared compliment, or the answer to the problem we’ve been trying to solve, or an opportunity that may not present itself again. We miss the “I Love You” or the shy mask of “I Miss You“. We miss the candidly vulnerable “I’m So Sorry“.

The point is, we miss out on so much, on too much, because we don’t embrace each moment, and taking those collective moments to seize each day—knowing that we will never get those moments and days back. Why look back on years with regret? Make a point, starting today, this very moment, to stop wasting away life. As each moment arises, meet it and take it all in!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.28.17

Scripture

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Prayer

Father thank You for another day of life, for the body that You have gifted me, for the shelter I call home, the food and drink that nourishes me, and the clothing and shoes that cover me. Thank You for the family and friends who surround me and share love. I don’t take any of this for granted, but I do know that I don’t express and show my gratitude enough and to the level that I should.

Father my body is a vessel given to me by You, and I don’t always treat it like a temple. I oftentimes treat it like a receptacle. Rather than constantly filling it with good fuel, I carelessly dump trash in it knowing that nothing good will come from it. I don’t consistently work to strengthen the muscles You have gifted me. I don’t take care of my organs, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments.

I’m sorry Father for my recklessness. I will do better. I want my book of life to be long and prosperous, and that’s only possible when I take care of my body and mind. I’m sorry that I continue to insult You. I will do right in honor of You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection

What God gives us He can take away. Our body is on loan to us and just like rental cars and hotel rooms, we leave the mess for someone else to clean up. If you aren’t taking care of your organs, muscles, ligaments, joints, and tendons…who’s supposed to take care of them? We rush to doctors and health food stores trying to repair the damage that we recklessly and foolishly caused. We try to find quick fixes for long-term damage.

I’m overweight. Not by some people’s standards. But I know I’m overweight, my body yells out in pain because it has to work much harder to do what the lighter weight Natasha used to be able to do–and many times I just can’t do it.

If our bodies aren’t stretched regularly, rested fully, recharged consistently, and challenged daily—they will give up, give out, and get gone! When we have organ failure who will we call on to fix us? When we have torn ligaments, broken bones, inflamed joints—what housekeeping team is going to come in to fix the problems we caused?

As we age we shouldn’t workout less, we should maintain our frequency and try to maintain the intensity. Instead the vast majority of us become content in slowing ourselves until we snail crawl out of here.

I don’t know about you but I’m trying to live a long and healthy life, free of medications and interventions. I want strong muscles and bones. I want well-lubricated joints and flexible ligaments and tendons. I want great posture and vibrant organs. I want to live fully and I know that it’s only possible when I do my part, by being mindful of what I put in my body and how I physically engage my body each day. If I’m coming with my “A game” on a consistent basis then God will see to it that I keep this loaner much longer. I don’t know about you but I’m trying to turn in my current midsize “vehicle” for a luxury sports car—lean, fast, and powerful!

If your body doesn’t look and feel like a “luxury vehicle” then ask yourself why should it treat you like it’s one? If you treat it like a Pinto or Gremlin, waiting to explode and be recalled, then guess what?

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.27.17

Today’s message is a recap from March 28, 2011. As you can probably tell by now, I’m occasionally reflecting on past posts to help with current needs. Today’s message definitely helped me. I hope that they help you too.

Scripture                                                                                                                                                     To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Jude 1:24-25

Pray
Father there are times when I am so self-consumed that I obviously must forget Your power, greatness, and omnipresence. I forget that when I am stressed out and fearful that You are watching and listening to me as I cry out. There are moments when I forget that I’m not alone, that I’m not lost, and that there is a solution to every problem and a straight pathway no matter which way I turn…and You provide the means to all I need.

Through Your son Father You have provided the perfect example of how to deal with sickness, sin, strife, fear, pain, doubt, anger, envy, ridicule, and temptation. You provided Your children with a life manual for us to read, study, practice, know, and live by. Father You have placed angels to watch over me, to steer me out of harm, to magnify Your glory. Lord You have placed people in my life to grab my hand when I need a lift after stumbling, embrace me when I need to feel Your warmth, push me when I drag behind, and share words of wisdom when I need encouragement.

Thank You Father. Amen.

Reflection
God is always there and always provides a way to help us whenever we need it, before we need it. We are not to analyze the why, what, where, and how- but be present in the ‘is’ of our life. Be grateful for those loving people in your life who are constantly encouraging and uplifting you in prayer and praise. Thank God for those people who want nothing from you but to see you be the best expression of God’s love. Be thankful for your life and all you have experienced, and for what is yet to come. What more can you ask for?

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.23.17

Today’s message is a repost from March 23, 2011. It’s amazing how we can be experiencing new or different challenges in one period of our life, and God’s Word still applies years later when we’re now facing more challenges. I hope today’s blast from the past message helps you as it has helped me:

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.23.11

I will not fail you. I will keep my promise.

Hebrews 13:5-6

Pray

Father God, thank You for bringing me back to that place of peace. Thank You for never failing, and never letting me down. I will not be discouraged by what I don’t see.

I know You’re my helper and You will make my crooked places straight. I know that the strength of the wicked is being cut off and the strength of the righteous will endure. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Reflection

Things may come your way, especially during the times when you feel like you can’t handle one more issues; but trust and know that God is there for you, guiding and protecting you, and showing you the way through paths of despair, heartache, turmoil, and inconvenience.

Special Message from Natasha:

I took some time away for myself to reflect and look at life from multiple lenses; to see what and why I have been so moved to share these messages with all of you; and to make sure that I am on the same page that God placed before me.

I needed time for solitude as I have been grieving the loss of loved ones this month. I needed a super private walk with the Lord and I appreciate all of you for your patience, understanding and care.

A friend sent me this scripture over a week ago and I saw it again today and decided to share it with all of you. Hopefully it will help you during moments of doubt and when you question what moves to make in your life.

In the upcoming weeks you will see some changes to the delivery of these messages, that should be an exciting experience for all of us. I can’t wait to share. Wow, God is good…all the time…

Have an incredible evening everyone!

Love,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.21.17

Scripture

John 12:9-11

Prayer

Father thank You for another day and another blessing. I pray that as You protect me from external attacks that You also protect me from myself, so that I may not be left vulnerable and exposed due to my fear or pride. The enemy is always looking for my weak spot and I don’t want to give it an entryway to lead me off the path You have placed me on. I also pray that You protect those who stand beside me and those who follow closely behind. They too will be under attack and may not see the direction the attack is coming from. Help them Father. I pray to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection

Imagine the people that you help being attacked simply because you helped them, and their testimony about you would derail someone else’s plans. Fear, pride and arrogance causes the attacker to go on a rampage trying their best to destroy the lives of all of the people you have helped. That’s the work of the enemy we call Satan. The attacker is more focused on divide and conquer than on seeking peace and resolution–first within themselves and then with you.

That is why managers terminate your unsuspecting colleagues after you quit or were fired from the job. They are collateral damage. Their only offense was being on good terms with you. Their presence in the workplace would only be a reminder of you, so they have to go—because now the paranoid manager thinks that your colleagues are bound to conspire against her/him.

That is why upon breaking up, a former spouse/companion makes abrupt and irrational decisions towards (your and sometimes their) family members, friends, associates, and neighbors. People who were once beloved are now expendable.

When the enemy attacks you understand that it will also come after those nearest and dearest to you. It has to hit you from all angles, and sometimes your weak spot isn’t you, it’s those who surround and support you. So while you’re going through these battles be sure to pray for your loved ones so that they too can be protected from attack.

The enemy doesn’t fight fair so you and those around you need extra layers of protection!

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.20.17

Today’s message comes from a Breaking Bread post that I shared on March 1, 2011. What is beautifully amazing is that six years later, the words still have great impact on me as I journey through my next level of challenges in life. We will always have challenges and face obstacles, it’s how we face and respond to them that matters.
I hope that today’s message resonates with you and that you will share it with others. We’re quick to share jokes, gossip, and politics with others, but sometimes slow to share God’s Word. As we’re in this season of Lent, approaching Easter, let’s work on seeking and sharing God’s Word each day. Let today be the start of anew!

Love your sister in Christ,

Natasha

John 20:21

Pray

You are never not on time Father. You always show up and show out right on time. You always send signs and messages as reminders that You are here, listening, watching, and waiting.

Father I was praying for more peace in my life. I was praying that I’d see what You have placed before me, and right when I needed reassurance it came in an electronic message of all things. Your reach is limitless. Thank You Father.

Reflection

Today’s passage truly found me. My friend sent me the above-referenced passage with the prayer that you will see quoted below, and I just had to smile and let those tears flow because her timing…no, God’s timing was impeccable. I was just praying for peace.

Read her prayer below:

Father God, thank You for the peace that fills my life. I will remain faithful and peaceful whenever the storms of life come, because I know it’s just a test, and I will pass it. I will continue to renew my mind and not let any negative seed take root. Thank You Father for a clear path and new surroundings. In Jesus name Amen…

Wow, isn’t God amazing?!?

Embrace your Tuesday and the fact that today begins a new month with new experiences and opportunities.

Love,

Natasha [March 1, 2011]
