Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 3.30.17

Scripture

Mark 11:17-18

Prayer

Father I pray for discernment, strength, courage, a heart that remains warm and open, and a mind not paralyzed by fear or hampered by lack of a daily challenge. I pray to be obedient even when I can’t see the path, help me to walk Father, even if others don’t. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection

Not everyone will see where you are, where you’re going, or what God has in store for you. It’s not up to you to show and prove anything to them. Just keep walking. Understand that some people will grow to fear you and in their fear they may try to stop, derail, discredit, and destroy you. Just keep walking. God always handles those who stand in the way of His plan. Just keep walking.

Jesus had hundreds of followers, disciples that said they were faithful and committed. Look at how many he had towards the end of his earthly journey. Roughly 12. Look how many stepped up and stood beside him when he was hauled away by the soldiers. Zip. Zero.

One sold him out for some silver, that he later threw back at the men who convinced him to sell out. One denied him three times after swearing he would never deny his Lord. Others turned away in fear. Others fled in shame and guilt.

Oddly enough, it was the women in his life who walked near by, praying. It was these same women returning to his tomb to pray and seek solace in loss. Mary was the one who ran to his disciples to share his resurrection and they doubted her. The same men who swore an allegiance. They were weak. While the woman so many doubted and judged, was the faithful and strong. Jesus appeared before the disciples and they doubted it was him until they physically touched him.

Some people just aren’t ready for what you’re doing, where you’re going, and how God needs to use you. Keep walking. They will eventually get it, or not—either way, don’t let it stop you. Keep walking. God will handle the details and particulars. Do what you’re supposed to do.
