Father thank You for this day, another day that You have blessed me, another day that I did not earn but only in your mercy and grace am I here–and I’m humbly grateful.
Father help me to see and understand the “small” things that I may overlook, not realizing the impressive impact that they will have on my life. Help me to be more mindful in my walk and that my words and deeds are considered before acted upon, so that my intentions are always known.
Forgive me for those moments when I don’t stop to feed, provide drink, take in, clothe, and visit. I know better and I want to do better. Touch my heart to slow down and do what You call me to do.
We oftentimes get bogged down in the literal and completely miss the spiritual and underlying messages and lessons placed before us. In our desire to gain wisdom and prance around so intelligently, we spend most days being foolish and ignorant–it’s our humanness, and something that God is constantly molding out of us so that we can be whole and complete spiritual beings.
Imagine this question being posed to Jesus, where they actually thought there were times that they did not recognize and know Jesus to be the one they fed, clothed, visited, etc. But like I said, we all have one of those “huh?” moments that turns into a “duh” moment. We can and should learn from them, and thankfully, Jesus made the time to teach them so that we all can learn what we need in order to evolve.
