Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.3.17
Scripture
Prayer
Father thank You for today, this day I did not earn–only through Your grace has it been gifted to me. Thank You.
Father I pray for discernment and vision to see what You need me to see, to hear what You need me to hear, so that I may go where You need for me to go. Help me to see clearly those around me who are here to support and uplift me, as well as those who are near to derail me.
Fill me with the strength and courage to persevere even when it feels as though I can’t take another step forward. Fill me with love so that I never grow to hate those who would betray and hurt me. Father You know that I’m trying to be better and live better. Allow me to see and discern Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reflection
Three times Peter denied knowing Jesus, just as Jesus said he would. The fear of punishment by the chief priests was greater than the fear of what would come of him for betraying his Teacher. It didn’t matter how many years Peter walked beside Jesus, his loyalty was truly tested the day he chose to deny Jesus three times.
Fear is toxic. It can destroy you. It can cause people to lie, cheat, steal, and even betray their loved ones.
When Peter heard the rooster crow, he remembered what Jesus said, and the realization that he had quickly, easily, and without hesistation denied Jesus—the man he called his Messiah, his Lord, his Teacher— the pain had to be greater than anything he could ever fathom.
But interesting enough…he didn’t immediately step forward and say “yes I know Him. I am His disciple. He is…”
Think about that.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.2.17
Scripture
Prayer
Father, keep me at peace even when those closest to me become my betrayers. Amen.
Reflection
Imagine knowing that your disciple, your student, your follower, your friend—will betray you. How would you handle it?
How would you cope with knowing that while you are under arrest, being interrogated and charged with a crime—the person who swore their allegiance to you is sitting back comfortable and free?
Now remember how Jesus handled it.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 8.1.17
Scripture
Prayer
Father thank You for today. I’m humbly grateful for another day. I’m a work in progress and I’m trying to do my part to be better and do better. I’m working to be a better servant and steward. Help me to remain focused on the path before me. Help me to not give up even when I feel weak and scared. I want to make this journey and I want to do my part to help others that You place before me. Help me Father. Strengthen me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Reflection
God gave Jesus disciples to teach, train, guide, and empower to carry on His teachings and ways. Jesus was mindful to not lose any of the disciples, to look out for them the best way he could, and make sure that they were protected. That is the epitome of a great leader.
While under His tutelage they would be watched over and prayed for in honor of God. Jesus fulfilled His promise and prophecy. What a burden He carried, but He did it like no other before or after Him. All that is asked is that we do our part.
