Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 1.16.18

“So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.”

Isaiah 59:14

Father touch the heart of each person that we might seek and demand justice for all; that we might seek and actively live righteously; that we learn to seek, speak, and reveal the truth 100 percent of the time, not just when it serves our purpose; and that honesty becomes the norm for all not just the few. Amen.

We are repeating a cycle. A lesson that even thousands of years later has not been learned. Why is it so difficult for us to be just, righteous, truthful, and honest? Why is it so difficult for us to treat others with love and respect no matter how much money they make or what their color, creed, religion, or beliefs? Why do we struggle so much to live a life based on basic principles many of us teach children when they are young and most impressionable?

Why do we preach what we don’t practice? Why are we surprised that our world is being torn and fractured at the seams, and that we have so many issues? Why can’t we see that the answer lies within us- and that the answer is God?
