But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
Father let my focus stay on You. Let my heart and mind be connected with You. I pray for humility and freedom from envy and selfish ambition. I don’t want to do or say anything, or be anywhere that goes against what You want for me.
If it doesn’t build Your Kingdom and reflect Your goodness then I want no part of it. I only want peace in my life- and envy and selfish ambition will bring me nothing but pain, discomfort, and misery. I pray for a clean heart, and a mind free of worldly clutter Father. In Your name I pray. Amen.
When our eyes are on someone else and what they are doing, or what they have, we lose focus on what we are supposed to be doing and where we’re supposed to be going. We are also losing ourselves in a dark pit of envy. When this envy grows into anger and bitterness, only darkness can be found.
When we align ourselves with people just to use them for their status and where they can take us we are setting ourselves up for an eventual failure. This is selfish ambition. When we are ladder climbing with only one goal in mind- our own success regardless of how it may affect others- this is selfish ambition.
We must free ourselves from envy and selfish ambition. We must turn away from the darkness and into God’s light.
