Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 9.10.18

Scripture

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 12:18

Reflection

Focus on the here and now. Focus on praying before speaking. Clear your negative thoughts and pray that they be replaced by pure, loving ones— so that they might uplift and heal, rather than tear down and destroy.

What we say can be just as or more harmful to ourselves and others as what we do. Protect your mind and heart from recklessness in thought, speech and deed.

Understand that even if you’re speaking the truth it’s gossip. If you’re not part of the solution working directly with the person(s) in need; then you’re part of the problem by gossiping about them. Be silent.

We’re so quick to talk about everyone’s business. How would we feel hearing that people who claimed to be friends and loved ones were gossiping about us? How would we feel if the very person who came to help us was turning around and telling others private details about our lives?

Doesn’t sound that great and entertaining when put that way does it?

Let’s stop being reckless!

Prayer

Father, today I choose to be wise and bring healing to myself and others with my words. I ask for an increase of patience, tolerance, love, care and consideration, respect and wisdom so that I may honor and reflect you. Amen.

Love,

Natasha
