Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 7.12.19

Scripture

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Reflection

Even when we have doubts and fears, and our faith and hope in life’s situations flickers on and off, one thing is constant and that’s God’s love. This is the one thing that should also remain a constant for us—our love for Him, our love for ourselves, and our love for other people—despite their faults.

Love your family, friends, associates, and your neighbors—even the nosey and annoying ones—you never know, they may be the one to catch the vandal or thief at your property, or call the police on your behalf, or be the one to alert you about something of great importance.

Love complete strangers—you don’t know how they are or will be a blessing to others and possibly even you. Love your service providers, you know that you need them.

Love your bill collectors—for goodness sakes, even though they can act like the mafia sometimes, let’s be clear, you owe them money, so be loving as you work to pay them back with interest. Lastly, but no less important, I will say to love your enemies—you don’t have to like them but understand that they are God’s child, just like you, and your grievance with them He will resolve.

Love people despite themselves just as you want to be loved despite your flaws and the ignorance that you sometimes (or often) display. We all just want to be loved. So love. Then watch as the world begins to look different to you, as you begin looking through a different lens.

I love you all.

Prayer

Father, I am so thankful and grateful for Your love, for it is like no other. I can rely upon Your love remaining constant for eternity. Your love is infinite, unlike anything a human can give because You give freely without keeping track of my wrongs, without expectations, without ultimatums, and without game playing. Your love is simply an “Is” and without explanation.

I have faith in You that You will always provide for me, and that You will protect me from harm. I have faith in You that You will place the right people in my life at the right time, and You will remove those individuals that don’t belong in my life now or in the future.

I have hope, and I continue to hope for the best. I hope for an enduring, loving, respectful, caring, honest, faithful, faith-filled, committed and monogamous relationship with a person who also loves and has faith in You, and never loses hope in You or mankind.

My faith and my hope may be tested, and I may sometimes waver— but one thing that You know Father is that my love never leaves and is never rattled or swayed. I love You Lord. If I didn’t love You I couldn’t possibly love myself— for You created and care for me. Thank You for Your love Father. In Your son Jesus’ name I pray to You with an abundance of love, hope and faith. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha
