“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Without faith, hope and love where are we? What are we? Who are we?
I don’t know about you but I want wealth of wisdom not just from learning through hearing and reading, but also through experience. With that experience comes hurdles, valleys and mountains so tall that you can’t see their tops. It is the adventure of overcoming the odds, not just reading about it (or listening to someone else share their stories) that makes life fuller, richer and more wondrous.
Living life sheltered isn’t living, it’s merely existing. If you don’t accept challenges, challenge yourself, and risk losing and failing, then you haven’t lived. Great discoveries and accomplishments are made by those who dare to chase their dreams, not by those who run away and hide from them.
There’s no cut-off point to getting up and getting out there. There’s no age limit, and adventures aren’t just limited to men and the wealthy. Moses was an old man, Jesus was in his 30s, Solomon was a young man, Ruth and Debra were women. Sarah/Sarai didn’t give birth to a child until she was elderly…at the age of 90!!
There are people starting college, graduating from college, buying homes, and starting businesses in their 60s, 70s, and 80s…what’s stopping you?
Don’t use your children or your circumstances as excuses for not standing up and embracing the opportunities that God has given you to make your dreams your goals, and your goals your accomplishments -–creating a new reality for you!
There are no limits to what we can do. If God has blessed us with gifts and talents, or placed someone in our lives who possess them–-then head towards your adventure and keep going until you cross the finish line. Live your life!
Father, thank You for today, for the shelter and for the food–-both spiritual and edible. Thank you for the vision to begin to see the path that You set before me. I cannot see long distance, but I can see each step that I take, and what’s before me. I can dream and hope that my dreams align with Your reality and plans for my life.
Father, I am a growing and developing tree. Shed my old leaves and help my new ones to grow strong and bright. Remove from me what is undesirable to You, so that I may be molded into the perfect image as You see fit. Let those around me not steal my fruit but rather seek their own, and wait patiently for You to provide. If my fruit can be of help to them, please guide me in the ways to gift it in Your honor.
Let me also gain patience for the things that I desire. Let me receive what I need and realize that what I want may not always be what I need. I humbly accept whatever portions that You allocate for me, while never having low expectations of You, Jesus or myself. I pray and give thanks to You today and always. Amen.
