Breaking Bread For 2.26.21

Scripture

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

Proverbs 31:11

Reflection

Consider a relationship where there is full trust, confidence, mutual respect, and total satisfaction without a perception of lack.

Consider a relationship where your passion for your spouse is so pure and intense that there is never a desire to seek comfort from another person outside of your relationship—for you both are satisfied and full each and every day. You’re so satisfied that you would never think about or entertain the suggestion of cheating on your spouse, because that would feel like cheating on your best friend, like cheating on God.

Consider a relationship where your spouse is your partner, your complementary equal, and rather than thinking that this person must meet all of your needs to complete you, you’re both satisfied because individually and collectively you’re complete in God.

Is it possible to have a relationship like this?

Yes, it is. Once we stop being selfish, self-centered, and self-absorbed—and start putting God first, asking for Him to keep His hand over your relationship. Then you will find a realignment to God’s original plan for marriage. As I share in my book Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone, Proverbs 31 shows us how to be a virtuous person in our human relationships and how to be an honorable and virtuous bride of God. Imagine that!

The prayer below is not just for single folks. This prayer can be recited by married people who want to ask God for direction and even an intervention. Maybe you are a divorcée or a widow(er) and you’re visualizing a potential future partner. Maybe you think that remarriage isn’t in God’s plan for you. Well how will you know if you don’t speak to Him about it. You might need to modify the prayer, include statements or even questions for God. Have a conversation with Him to gain clarity and to state the desires of your heart. You may be thinking something isn’t possible, is too late to happen for you, while God is simply waiting for you to imagine more for your life. Maybe God has been waiting for you to let the past be buried so that you can have a new life with someone who has been molded for you and you for them. Let your heart guide you through the prayer below and afterwards, take several moments in silence to meditate on your petition and to remember God’s promises.

Prayer

Father, I pray that Your grace blesses me with a trusting and loving relationship where there is full confidence in our ability and our fidelity. I pray for a relationship where neither of us perceive lack, because we not only are actively invested in our union but we also know that all of our needs are met by You—where we are deficient, You fill in those gaps. Let us both see, feel, experience, and appreciate this authentic love. Let us work passionately to build, strengthen, reinforce, protect, and fight for it. Let us understand and be bound by Your vision for our relationship, with the full comprehension that outsiders have no place interfering in what You brought together. Let us appreciate our partnership and stand firm in our conviction that we not only represent each other but we represent You. Our union should be treated as intimately as we treat our relationship with You, because You are in us and we are of You. Let us never take our relationship as a couple and our relationship with You for granted, for they are intertwined and require all three of us to protect, enrich, and nourish it. I want to be the spouse who instills confidence and the one who is filled with confidence, lacking nothing and pouring into my spouse so that they don’t feel lack. I pray for these things in Your Son, Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.25.21

Scripture

All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:16

Reflection

David realized the power, presence, and purpose-driven nature of God. He realized that God knew him fully even before he was conceived and formed in the womb. He realized that God spoke of him long before David came to be. David realized that God had a plan and purpose for him that were bigger and bolder than anything he could ever imagine. With this understanding comes responsibility to do his part, be obedient and discerning, and don’t screw things up on his end—so that God doesn’t have to waste time fixing David’s mess.

If you read and study your Bible, then you know that David reached a point in his life where his title, rank, and fame got to his head. He went from the humble young man slaying Goliath, to an adulterer and murderer. He made a lot of messy situations, and many of us would question why God would choose him, forgive him, and redeem him. That’s our biggest problem, we forget our role and we swerve out of our lane. We’ve grown entitled to think that we can judge and determine who’s righteous and worthy of saving.

Only God can see our hearts and all that’s within them. Even David’s lust of the flesh could be reconciled by God. For God knew that David’s heart wasn’t evil. Yes, he had given into temptation but he hadn’t converted to Team Satan. God dealt justly with folks that were on the other team. God had a plan and it required David to be part of that plan, and through God’s grace, mercy, patience, and correction, we see the evolution of David.

Just like we saw God do the same thing with Adam (the first sinner), Cain (killed his brother and then lied to God about it), Lamech (killed a man for hurting him and a boy for bruising him), and Abraham (the scandal with Hagar, and then the “she’s my sister” scandal that happened twice with Sarai/Sarah). Let’s not forget Isaac did the exact same thing his father Abraham did. Then we saw how Jacob lied and tricked his brother Esau and his father Isaac, to get Esau’s birthright and blessings.

These are just some of the examples of men in the Bible who God demonstrated patience, grace, mercy, and loving correction. I can rattle off examples of women too, like Eve, Sarai/Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Rachel, Leah, and more. All of these women let jealousy, envy, pride, and fear cause chaos in their lives. They all chose to fall into Satan’s trap one way or another. But God loved, forgave, and blessed them.

God wasn’t making up the plans as He went along. When He started anew with Noah’s family on the ark, God already had a vision for a people, for the world, for His creations. He knew the struggles, traps, and dumb decisions that would be made. He was determined to keep His covenants, His promises to individuals and to nations. He is determined to keep His promises made to you, if you will let Him.

When you dig into the Bible and study the history, cultures, customs, traditions, and languages, you get a better sense of what was going on and why they were being tested by God and tempted by Satan. You can see where, how, and why God is reconciling the world influenced by Satan to be realigned with God’s Kingdom. God has a vision of Heaven and Earth merged together as one, but humans keep getting in the way of that vision materializing in present-day.

When you dig deep into the Bible you can see the tie-ins and parallels to today. You can also see yourself in some of the stories. Can you see those moments in your life of fear, pride, envy, jealousy, greed, lust, refusing to forgive, deception, grief, depression, and lies? We read of God’s forgiveness of people that many of us wouldn’t forgive, which should help us to see how differently we see things in comparison to God. We’re focused on one thing while He’s focused on something else. We’re focused on the minor while He’s focused on the major. We can only see in front of us while He can see everything and everyone—past, present, and future.

Also, what many of us fail to see is that just as God forgave David, Jacob, Isaac, and others—God will and has forgiven YOU and me! It’s up to you to forgive yourself. It’s up to you to forgive others who have wronged you. We create the twisted madness that enslaves us in a constant state of lack, anger, depression, and chaos. We blame Satan. But Satan didn’t make us choose that as our reality. We did that all by ourselves. We choose to hold grudges, not forgive, be prideful, cheat, steal, deceive, abuse, and keep the cycle going strong. We choose to enslave and oppress people through systemic racism, sexism, classism, and other isms. We choose to hate and create division through that hate.

We choose to be the modern Sadducees and Pharisees. We choose to keep the curse of Adam and Eve present in our lives each and every day. As long as we sin the curse remains. We choose lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. We can choose to do the opposite. We can choose to accept responsibility for our wrongdoing and sins, ask for forgiveness (and forgive ourselves), repent, atone, and realign fully with God.

Just like David and the examples of people before and after him.

Today is a blessing, a gift from God, known by Him long before our minds can fathom. How will YOU choose to spend the moments of this day?

Prayer

Father God, today I humbly come to You giving You thanks for all Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. I trust that Your plans for me are good, and I choose to turn the page of the past by choosing Your way which means to be present in the day-to-day, and hopeful for the future.

I embrace the role You have chosen for me and I accept the responsibility that comes with my position. I want to break free from sin, do my part to end this generational curse, and live my best life as designed by You. I praise You for what You did, what You have done, and what You will do. In Jesus’ Name I pray to You. Amen.

Love you all!

Breaking Bread For 2.24.21

Scripture

For we live by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

Reflection

Let’s discuss FAITH right now. Not fear, not doubt, not anger, not confusion, not cynicism—just faith. In Hebrew, the word for faith means “support” such as “to support”, or support in/of something or someone. When you look at faith through that lens you can see why God is looking to us to support His plans, His vision, so that He can keep His promises. If we don’t believe in Him, follow Him, align with Him, then how can He possibly keep His promises? How can He help us to grab ahold of those dreams that capture our hearts so tenderly? We’re to have faith and believe that God is protecting us, and is there for us and our loved ones always. Our faith supports the understanding that His correction is out of love, to mold us and properly align us—never to harm us. Our faith in God to believe that only He can conquer and defeat the enemy. Faith in the future, and that it is restored and reconciled by God. Our God of today is no different from God of the past, and He will be the same God in the future. Today I pray to God that He comforts those in need. I pray that He sees them through these challenges and heals them 100% from their inflictions. I know that God is here always. Because I have faith!

Prayer

Father, today my faith is being tested. I am tested in my belief of Your presence, protection, watchfulness, healing, direction, and leadership. I am tested to see if whether or not I believe that You are taking care of me and my needs, and those people that I love and cherish the most. Father, it is not what I see that matters; that is not what faith requires— it is just knowing and believing in Your power, love and presence consistently throughout my life and the generations before me. It’s the unknowns in life that require me to believe in You, Your grace and power. The unknowns of man are always explained and solved by You. I turn all of my worries, concerns, and needs over to You Father. In Your capable Hands all will be made right, well, and good. Amen.

Loving you all,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.23.21

Scripture

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”

John 10:10

Reflection

Ask God to equip you for life’s battles, to protect you from all enemies, to allow you to see the magnitude of your relationship with Him, and the abilities He has blessed you with— to uplift yourself and others in His greatness— while also overcoming fear, temptation, and evil. The enemy is focused on only on stealing, killing, and destroying everything that is good and of God. The enemy tempts you with sin knowing that sin is death. God wants us to have a full and beautiful life, that is why He sent Jesus, to reconcile us in our Father. Learn to see yourself as God sees you, then you will act and live accordingly.

Prayer

Father thank You for showing me that I have all I that need, in and through You, and that Jesus is the guide to You. You are my Source and I know that any other source is a fraud. Love, life, light, grace, freedom, respect, dignity, care, protection, and wealth can only come from You Lord. Turn away my enemy, both perceived and actual. Shut down all attempts by others to deceive and harm me. Weaken those who would scheme to destroy what I’m working to build in Your Name. Strengthen me Lord so that I can rise each day to give glory and honor to You, and through my testimony to Your children. Help me to see in all ways where I can be of help to others. Help me to always see and discern the truth, Your Truth. To You I give the glory. Amen.

Loving you always,

Breaking Bread For 2.22.21

Scripture

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:14

Reflection

We must stop carrying around anger, resentment, bitterness, sadness, jealousy and envy. Our hearts are ugly when we carry this nonsense around. We must let go and turn our cares and troubles over to our heavenly Father. We must learn and begin to forgive. We are carrying around extra weight on our shoulders that we don’t need to carry. This added weight causes stress and our bodies react negatively to too much stress. We’re being eaten up on the inside from the poison that bleeds through us when we refuse to forgive, when we keep seeking revenge. If we can’t forgive others then how can God forgive us? If we can’t forgive others, then what does that say about our relationship with Him?

And for those of you struggling with believing that God has forgiven you, imagine how hurtful it must be for Him to do so much to prove that He loves you and that He’s forgiven you, yet you keep living as though He hasn’t. He keeps blessing you with life, gifts, talents, and other expressions of His love, and you still won’t let go of the past—you’re still walking around waiting for his vengeance, just like Joseph’s brothers. Do you remember them? Out of jealousy, they sold him into slavery, and 20 years later they reunite and he forgives them. Joseph helped to position them in favor of Pharaoh and he takes care of all of their families. Yet when their father passed away, 17 years after he forgave them, the brothers then feared that Joseph hadn’t truly forgiven them and was instead plotting his revenge [Genesis 50:15]. Joseph cried at the thought. Here he had showed them grace, mercy, love, and forgiveness, and they still couldn’t forgive themselves for the cruel things they had done to him—so in their minds there was no possible way that he could forgive them.

As Joseph told his brothers, “Am I in the place of God?” [Genesis 50:19] I want to remind you of the same thing— we’re not in the place of God. It is not our place to do what only God is to do. God said that vengeance is His, not ours. We can be justly and human governments are to provide justice [Romans 13], but vengeance is off the table. He’s the only one that can be involved in payback. Joseph knew this, he also knew his place and God’s place. We need to know our place. We need to stay in our lane. We must learn to forgive ourselves and others so that we can enjoy the freedom that comes from not carrying around the burdens of unforgiveness, revenge and vendettas. When we forgive our hearts can be filled with goodness not evil. Let’s let go people.

Prayer

Father, today I must let go and forgive those who have harmed me. I cannot ask for Your forgiveness if I can’t forgive others. I have to accept the fact that You will always settle my grievances, You will always right the wrongs done against me, and You will always bring light into dark places and spaces. I pray to forgive myself and to stop carrying around the dead weight of the past that you have already forgiven me for. I apologize for being careless and not considering how it hurts you to watch me live as though You haven’t forgiven me, yet You show me daily Your love. I pray to realign myself and restrengthen my relationship with You. I thank You Father. In Your name I pray. Amen.

Loving you always,

Breaking Bread For 2.19.21

Scripture

In you, lord my God, I put my trust.

Psalm 25:1

Reflection

There is no other truth, reality, comfort, or source of reliance except our Heavenly Father. Trust in Him and put everything else to the side. When you doubt someone close to you, trust that God is with you, and will always reveal the Truth. Trust in God to bring you out of harm’s way, and know that even as Joseph learned while enslaved in Egypt, sometimes what you see as hell is only a breakthrough to greatness. Joseph became a ruler over Egypt, the same land where he was sold to by his brothers (when he was 17 years old) and lived as a slave for 13 years. When you doubt your ability to accomplish or overcome something, trust that the Lord is there to help you. Trust those dreams He gives you,  just like Joseph trusted the dreams God gave him. Know that you can be redeemed just like David, who did some awful things, but God was more concerned about his heart than his stupid and selfish actions. David realigned, put his trust in God, and walked accordingly. God said we can if we believe and trust in Him. Where will you put your trust? Who and what will you believe?

Prayer

Father, when I can’t put my trust in man I know that I can always trust in You. When man has betrayed me and caused me to question their honor, loyalty, and truthfulness I know that You will never fail me and let me down. I know that You will never lie, deceive, mistreat, or hide anything from me. I know that in You, Lord, the truth is always revealed. For those reasons and more, I will always humbly follow You and praise Your Holy Name. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.18.21

Scripture

By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

John 5:30

Reflection

If you take your last breath this very moment, could you say with the strongest of convictions that you have led your life the way you intended? The way God intended? Have you treated people better than the thing you love the most? Or does your most prized possession garner greater attention from you? Do you treat people as your equal, as though it is your mission to serve them? Or do you treat people as though you’re superior, better, more entitled, or more special?

Jesus is the ultimate servant leader. He never had to go around bragging and boasting, and telling people, “Google me” (whatever the ancient version of that would be). He didn’t even have to say that he was the Son of God in order to get them to follow. He didn’t have to show off or declare his authority over others in order to get them to follow him. People followed because they believed what they heard, saw, and wanted to experience. Through his actions and demonstrations he proved his ability. He didn’t just talk the talk he walked the walk. But he also knew that the only way to build our Father’s Kingdom here on Earth it would require believers and followers to be obedient, study and learn, spread the gospel, and to help people help themselves. Jesus healed people and taught his disciples how to heal people. He showed us that we are all capable of following in his footsteps, and capable of healing not only others but ourselves. But it requires us to walk in and through demonstration, to believe fully, have faith (support in) in the unknown, unseen, unimaginable, and impossible. It requires us to work through our faith (support) to manifest the reality of our future.

We are oftentimes too self absorbed to realize that this isn’t about us but it is instead about our Heavenly Father. He has the heavy lift, we just have to get aligned with Him. Jesus has shown us how to live our lives and how to treat other people, and how we’re supposed to treat ourselves. Jesus has shown us how to deal with conflict and how to deal with circumstances that we don’t particularly like. Jesus showed us how to deal with friends and our foes. He showed us how, when, where, and why to pray to God. He treated all with the utmost respect and love, and served those who would follow or need him first. He knew that he couldn’t touch every life one at a time by himself. That is why he recruited and appointed disciples that he taught and trained. They then recruited, taught, and trained more believers. Know that you cannot do this alone and that you are never alone, even when you don’t see anyone around. See yourself for who and what you truly are, not what you think you are, or what others see you to be. Know to Whom you belong, and model the life your Creator envisioned for you.

Prayer

Father, my purpose is to serve and worship You and only You, Lord—no other gods. I’m not to worship the things that You created. I’m to use tools and love people, not the other way around. Show me how to be the best ambassador that I can be in Your Kingdom. Please provide me with the resources and the skills so that I might use them responsibly. If I already have what I need to get started, please help me with my discernment so that I can stop delaying.

Just as Your Son, Jesus, said and knew that he could not do it alone, I know that I cannot do this alone. I know that You will always put the right people in my life to show me the way and to show me how to perform the duties You have charged me with. I thank You now for what You bring to me today and tomorrow. You have high expectations for me Lord and I want to live up to Your expectations. I will not let fear nor man keep me from reaching my goals. In Jesus name I pray to You as Your humble servant, now and forever. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.17.21

Scripture

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet has thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:6, 8-10 KJV

Reflection

Through discernment we can trust something to be truth, without testing our assumption. Until we believe without the need for confirmation, we cannot truly have faith. Without trust we can’t have faith. You can process information and through deductive reasoning reach a conclusion that something is probable. But that does not mean that you have faith in that information doing more than what your mind has already processed. Until we have faith we cannot truly experience what God has planned for us. You can’t see with your eyes what your heart still struggles to feel and what your mind fails to comprehend and consider. If you are limited by the flesh then the spirit does not live outwardly.

Until we are true believers in faith (support of God), walking and living in that faith (support of God) we are merely lost sheep awaiting our shepherd, and prone to be lured by another voice (Satan) that we’re fooled into believing is our shepherd. We will go round and round in circles going no where fast— lost in a wilderness, in a constant mental state of lack. Four days is too long to be wandering through a forest without a sense of direction; consider 40 years that the Israelites struggled with letting go things of the flesh to embrace a new life God had planned for them. Now consider walking around aimlessly for a lifetime. We all have choices. God sent numerous prophets to share, teach, and direct. He sent Jesus to realign us and confirm the visions, plans, and promises. God sent Jesus to be the King of Israel that the people had been begging for, for hundreds of years. Look at what the people did to the God-sent King. How are we any different? It’s 2021 and look at us. Jesus left the roadmap but if we choose to not follow so that we can finally experience the life that God promised, then that is the choice we will have to live with. What choice will you make? What choice will you stand by to demonstrate your faith (support) in God?

Prayer

Father if there is any doubt in me as to Your realness, Your presence, Your power, Your influence over my life and the world— I want it removed now. You know my heart Lord. If I believe in Your Son then how can I not believe in You? If I believe in You then I must believe that You sent Your son to save us. I believe that we did not truly believe, listen and follow You, and You sent Jesus to free us of the shackles we placed upon ourselves.

Father, we are still enslaved. We are still not fully committed and invested in Your plan. We are still easily manipulated by the “liar” and I know that I want the mania and chaos in my life to end. I want to taste the sweet fruits provided by You, I want to drink the pure water from You, I want to walk in righteousness and not wallow in sin. Cleanse me Lord. I petition You and Your Son to guide, redirect, realign, and to help me reflect You all the days of my life. I say these words to You as a believer and follower of You and Your Son, the Wayshower, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Love,

Breaking Bread For 2.16.21

Scripture

He also told them this parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?” The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.

Luke 6:39-40

Reflection

We must follow the instructions and the roadmap left by our savior Jesus Christ. It is the only way that we might find our way back to righteousness, as determined by God. It is the only way that we might be saved from the death that sin brings. We can’t keep trying to do it ourselves thinking that God birthed us to figure it out alone. This is not an aimless mission, this is not an empty purpose solely for our vanity, this is our fight but it is not our war. It’s God’s and we are His children, servants, ambassadors, and stewards. We are supposed to be devoted and committed to Him, His plans, and His Kingdom (and His plan that it will reign here on Earth as part of the New Jerusalem). We’re supposed to believe in Him, support Him through our faith, and worship only Him—not the things that He created. We can’t get where we need to go until we have mastered the lessons that He is teaching us on a daily basis. We keep trying to get the Cliff Notes version, fast-track it, search for a hack, in an attempt to be ahead or above the Teacher. Because we don’t study the history, culture, and understanding of the ancient people, we misunderstand their beliefs about body, soul, and what happens to us after we stop breathing in these bodies. We keep misunderstanding God’s plan. We must be fully trained, disciplined enough to withstand the tests and temptations, and strengthened enough to stand with conviction and courage against the enemy within and the enemy around us. We must demonstrate and prove the side that we’re choosing.

Stop filtering and manipulating God’s words, commands, promises, and realities to best suit what you think and desire. You are the student yet you’re acting like you’re the Teacher. You’re the servant acting like you’re the Master. There are always consequences to our actions. Jesus didn’t remove consequences from the table. We don’t have free reign to do whatever and not face consequences. Jesus stood in as a placeholder, to give us reprieve, so that we could experience grace rather than immediate punishment, which so many experienced in ancient times. God and Jesus want us to learn through other people’s experiences, through the historical records, while so many of us seem hellbent on learning the hard way—through testing the fire.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I have said and I will continue to say that there are things that I want to learn through experience, not just through other people’s accounts. I want to learn for growth, with a hope that God would bless me with wisdom. I can watch someone swim but I want to swim myself. Thank goodness I got swimming lessons as a child. I still want to learn to be a stronger and more confident swimmer. I can watch someone cook, but I want to learn to prepare the dishes that bring my nourishment and joy. I enjoy cooking and feel joy in the blessing of God’s provisions. To take what He has provided and create something delicious, to hopefully share with others, brings glory to God. You can be chauffeured your entire life or you can feel the jolt of energy that flows through you when you get behind the wheel and learn how to drive, and appreciate even more the machinery and mastery that God made possible. We should have a desire to learn and be taught.

If everything is just dropped in our laps we grow familiar, entitled, and turn into unappreciative spoiled brats. That’s what happened to Satan. Look who he dragged down with him! If Satan had never sinned he would have never tempted Eve and Adam to sin, and none of us would be dealing with this nonsense on Earth. God could easily wipe out sin, remove Satan and his crew from Earth, rebalance the scales making everyone equal, turn famine to abundance, heal those that man has made sick (through our pollutants and inventions), and fix everything that we have damaged and destroyed.

But honestly, what would we do when everything was immediately made perfect?

The centuries that humankind has spent destroying His creations, enslaving and abusing His children and animals, telling lies about Him, distorting His Truth, hijacking His ideas, pimping Him out for our self-gain—what would we truly learn and value if everything was made perfect without our sacrifice? How long would we praise and worship God after all of our heartache and loss was healed and reconciled? How many would yearn for parts of the past? How many wouldn’t know what to do with themselves because they spent so many years thinking and believing that misery would be the only thing they could rely upon? How many people would feel lost because they spent so many years climbing and conquering, that they wouldn’t know what to do in absolute peace, with every provision provided without sacrifice? How could those who have spent every waking moment stepping on the backs of others, deal with those same people being their equals in every sense of the term?

We have to learn why we die from sin. We have to learn why and how the enemy plots against us. We have to learn to take responsibility for our choices, because it doesn’t matter if Satan tempts, it matters if you take the bait. We must learn to discern truth from lies, fact from fiction, God’s voice from all others. From our reactions to social media and the yellow journalism we see from the media, our discernment is muddied. We have to learn why God created us, why He loves us so much, why He wants us to come back to Him and remain in Him. We have to learn to love all of His children. We have to learn that the reason we’re divided here is because Adam and Eve chose to separate from God and choose to listen to Satan, and that every day we choose the flesh over the Spirit, we are no different than them. We have to learn to be awesome stewards of everything He gives us—our bodies, our minds and spirits, our families and homes, the consumer goods we keep splurging on, the planet we live on, and the animals that God told us to care for.

Remember, God’s plan is to blend Heaven and Earth, here on Earth, as a New Jerusalem. Everyone who has passed before us are waiting to return. They aren’t waiting for us to get there. They are waiting to come back here to fulfill God’s original plan in Genesis. We are delaying their return thinking that we have to wait to die to experience Heaven, and only there (elsewhere) can we have what God promised. Re-read your Bible, study it, learn it like a student of excellence. There and then will you will see that God is waiting for us to change our ways, change our heart. That is what repentance is. He wants our support of His vision and plan. Faith in Hebrew means “support in/of”. How are we supporting God’s plan when we’re too busy distorting and disrupting it? We must be in total alignment so He can separate the believers from the disbelievers, His followers from Satan’s followers. He will reclaim this planet, this idea, that He created for his beloved creations. We have to learn our place, our role, how to truly be obedient and faithful, so that we’re never ever ever tempted to disobey Him. We have to be reconciled to and by God. We have to break the curses by living differently so we can enjoy all that God has planned for us, and those who have been waiting to reunite with us.

Through learning comes growth and change. You cannot grow without changing. You won’t change until you learn that there is something different, better, than what and where you are. You can only learn if you’re willing to be taught.

Prayer

Father, I have grown through my walk to realize that You regularly send people to teach, show, and guide me through life’s lessons. It is when I turn away and choose to instead walk alone or walk with someone else that I think knows more, that I stumble and fall. You sent prophets to redirect us. You sent Jesus to provide us with instruction, the updated plan, and to help us see Your vision and our purpose. You have met us where we are, You have visited us in all the ways we expected to see You. I pray that I might study, learn, and practice the correct steps to take in the correct ways, as You see fit.

I want to walk the walk, not just talk it. I want to learn so that I don’t repeat the mistakes and sins from the past. I want to break the curse. I want to be reconciled and made whole by You. I want to experience heaven here on Earth with all of my loved ones and all of the people I’ve read about but never knew, and all of the people whose life story never made it into a book. I humble myself before You Father. I open my eyes to see who You send my way. I open my ears to hear Your voice directly and through them. I pray for discernment, courage, strength, and the urgency to obey You without delay. I pray this in honor of all of the prophets You sent to steer us right. May we do our part to help fulfill Your plan and promise. Amen.

If you want to learn more about some of the things that I mentioned in this message, feel free to read my SEEK HIM book series, available through D.O.M.E. Life Publishing, and through local bookstores and major retailers.

Enjoy your day and God bless you all!

Breaking Bread For 2.12.2021

Message From Natasha: Let me start off wishing my amazing sister a happy birthday. I love you Poonka!

Scripture

When people are brought low and you say, ‘Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast.

Job 22:29

Reflection

Pray for the fallen, shut out, weak, frustrated, depressed, unfaithful, and lonely. Keep them in your prayers. Keep positive thoughts about them, speak positively to them— so that eventually, the positivity penetrates their veil and they can stand again, see again, and reconnect again.

Prayer

Father, You have children who are suffering; they have been brought low in their personal and professional lives. I ask that You lift them up. Let their eyes see Your Light so that they may be guided out of the shadows, and back on to their chartered course. I pray that You fill them and in their fulness all that they want to do is praise You and testify to the world of Your grace, mercy, and greatness. These things I pray for in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.11.21

Message From Natasha: I want to start off by wishing my aunt Ava a very happy birthday. I love you!

Scripture

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

John 12:43-44,47,49-50 (KJV)

Reflection

We must put our faith, understanding, and reliance upon God and not man. Man is flawed through sin and easily tempted by the flesh. The perfect example of where we ought to be is Jesus— who evolved and transformed as God intended. Even in his last days when he cried out in a moment of fear and doubt, he still leaned on God and by doing so he fulfilled prophecy. From conception, Jesus was given a mission to show us the way back “home” to God. We must listen for God’s voice to comfort, protect, and guide us. We must put our faith in something we cannot see but we know we can feel every day.

Do you have that faith? Can you turn to God to heal your pain? Or do you give in to the “liar’s” whispers that tell you there is a better substitute for God? We have choices. You just have to decide if you are following God or the “liar”.

Prayer

Father, there is no other that I place before You, that I rely upon first, that I praise or worship, that I lean on, or that I talk to first but You. I hear Your voice directing me daily and You have given me the choice to listen and follow, or to ignore You and do my own thing. You sent Your Son to us to save us from ourselves and from the “liar” who would have us to believe that we can be like You and have power and glory equal to Yours. I know that You will reign forever over the world and beyond; that there is nothing good that has been created that was not created by You.

We are Your reflections, perfect only in and through You, and we’re attempting to regain our sense of self in You Father. We have stumbled, fallen, and now we struggle to reclaim who we are in, of, and through You. We have leaned more on man’s understanding than Your Word; we have relied on and imitated man more than You. We desire the things of the flesh more than we do of You. For those things, Father, I ask for forgiveness. I want to always walk in Your Light. In Your Name I pray for strength, courage, and dignity every day. Amen.

I love you all!

Breaking Bread For 2.10.21

Scripture

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Colossians 4:2

Reflection

Prayer should not be passive nor should it be for show, but rather purposeful. This is your time with God. Prayer is another sign of your devotion to God, Jesus, and the Kingdom that you are an ambassador for. Each time you speak to God you are demonstrating your faith in Him, as you bring Him your praise, questions, and petitions. Take several moments throughout your day to pray, reflect, show thanks and appreciation, and to give back to our Heavenly Father. Don’t just use prayer as a time to express a form of conditional love, where you are only asking for something and only thankful when you receive His blessings.

Prayer

Father, every day throughout my day I want to stop and pray to You, to give thanks to You, and to connect with You. In my prayers I deepen my understanding of my purpose and Your guidance over me. Through my prayers, my eyes are opened wider and my ears are more alert. I am able to discern more, because, through Your patience and care I have been exposed to Your truths— and the more I believe, the more I receive. Thank You Father. Amen.

Lovingly,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.9.21

Scripture

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

Proverbs 31:25

Reflection

You are truly whole and complete when you get to the point where you are fearless, doubtless, and fully confident in God’s ability to see you through anything and everything that the future throws your way. Awesome isn’t it? Think about never fearing losing your wealth, home, car, or anything else that God gave you. When you know that God is your Provider, Comforter, All in All, then you put your strength and confidence in Him. Wouldn’t that be an amazing feeling and experience? Pray for it. Then believe it!

Prayer

Father, thank You for the strength and wisdom that guides me daily. Thank You for encircling me with Love. With You I am clothed in strength and dignity; able to raise my head and walk upright, tall and confident. My belief in You and Your greatness builds my faith in You and in myself, as your servant. Let me laugh at whatever the future may bring knowing that no matter what, You will be right there guiding and protecting me. Father, I pray to be as virtuous as the woman depicted in this proverb. In Your Name I pray and praise. Amen.

Breaking Bread For 2.8.21

Scripture

As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

1 Peter 2:16 (KJV)

Reflection

We are free people given the right to make decisions in our lives. We can either choose a life of dishonesty, deceit, maliciousness, and hate; or we can choose to live in God’s loving Light. There is no reason to lie to or mistreat another person, ever. There is no reason to live a life of deceit. God sees and hears all; He’s just waiting for you to change your ways, ask for forgiveness, and don’t repeat the offense. In our deception we fail to see that we are merely pawns of the enemy. But God always puts the enemy in checkmate. Don’t find yourself on the losing team. Get it together and get on the right side. Serve God not Satan.

Prayer

Father, I pray for a heart filled with all that is of You and nothing that is of the enemy. I only want to serve You, listen to You, and obey You. I don’t want to be misled to follow the enemy. Help me to hear Your voice through the crowds and distractions. Help me to hear Your voice during moments of pain, rage, and fear. I hope to always feel Your touch, redirecting me from decisions that I will regret. I don’t want to disappoint You. I don’t want to be disconnected from You. Help me Father. I pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.5.21

Scripture

The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15:26

Reflection

We leave this level of existence to move forward to another level of existence. At that time we shed these shells or “tents” (as an ancient Hebrew reference) and understand clearly that although our bodies will no longer function here, we continue to live on elsewhere. Jesus proved that death is unreal in the physical sense, but is absolutely present in the spiritual sense. We are walking around as zombies, dead to the Truth. Death comes from sin. Sin breaks our connection, destroys our relationship with God. Adam and Eve brought sin and death to humankind, and we fight daily to resist the temptations that lead to sin, and ultimately death. When we choose to latch on to sin and evil, our branch begins to die and we are cut off from God.

Maybe that is why people preach and teach passionately about the existence of Hell, because an eternity disconnected and separated from God, is absolutely Hell in every possible sense of the concept. That isn’t what God wants. He wants us strong in His strength, confident in His Allness, and connected to His Tree forever. He wants us to truly experience life. What we have here on Earth, in its present state, is not life; it is existence in a battle that will lead to a war. We have to choose a side and stick to our choice. Our choice determines where our souls will journey. Our choice determines whether God and Jesus will look in our eyes and say, “I never knew you” or if they say, “Welcome, faithful servant”. Peel back the layers and see who you are and to Whom you belong. Seek Him for clarification on your calling and assignment. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive and confuse you. Be clear-minded in God. Embrace the reality of eternal life with the Father and Son.

Prayer

Father, thank You for sending Your son to remind us that only through You is there Life and because of You there is no death. Jesus proved this in his healings of those dying, the resurrection of the dead, and in his own resurrection. I pray for guidance on the spiritual death that I face in sin. I don’t want to be disconnected and cut-off from You. I want to be with You forever, serving You however You see fit. You have always been faithful to me and I want to always be faithful to You. Thank you Father for loving me. I love You. I praise You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.4.2021

Scripture

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

Luke 24:51 NIV

Reflection

If you study the Bible, you know that before someone transitioned from this life, they would oftentimes bless those closest to them, such as their family and household staff. Jesus satisfied this custom twice. The first time was during the Last Supper, while in his human body, he blessed his disciples. The second time was by blessing his disciples in his last moment here (in his transformed body). And while he was blessing them, he left and ascended. Jesus’ blessings did not cease after that day. He blessed all of us on the cross, through his resurrection, and since his ascension he has blessed us through our daily prayers.

May we all be fortunate enough to bless our loved ones while we roam in these bodies, and again before we transition, and through our work here—may our legacy continue to bless them for generations to come, long after we leave behind these bodies.

Prayer

Father, thank You for my blessings. Thank You for the angels You have sent to protect, guide, and enlighten me. Thank You for my loved ones—those I stay in constant contact with and those I haven’t spoken to in years. For those who have been a blessing to me let me be a blessing to them, and for those who need a blessing allow me to bless them through You. Your son Jesus blessed us, ascended, and we honored him as the Wayshower to You. He continues to bless us because of You. In his name and Yours I humbly and faithfully pray. Amen.

Love you always,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.3.21

Scripture

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:10-11 NIV

Reflection

Look to see your purpose, calling and election— then live to fulfill these expectations as the Lord has called you to do. We have all been called to do certain things in life; it is up to us to listen, act, and do our best to serve our Heavenly Father and His children. When we faithfully and obediently march for His cause and walk on His path, His hand always guides us and we won’t stumble. It’s when we choose to live our own lives, separate from His direction that we always fall on our face…repeatedly.

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of wrestling with God. I’d rather walk in peace with Him. All of these problems that we face is because we keep wrestling with Him. Some of us are busy pursuing someone else’s calling and election. Some of us are meddling in the affairs of others instead of staying in our own lane. Keep your eyes on God, your ears tuned into His voice, and your spirit firmly linked to His. We can’t stumble when His Hand is guiding us.

Prayer

Father, let me first start by saying thank you Lord for all You do— past, present and future. Father this is the time for me to confirm my calling and election. Let me stand firm in the knowledge and wisdom of Your plan for me. I want to serve You fully, purposely and purposefully. I want to do right by You. I want to live the life of honor that best reflects You. Never do I want You disappointed in me Father. In Your Name I pray and praise. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.2.21

Let me first start with a Happy Heavenly Birthday message to my late great grandmother, Georgia Lee Newton. Her love, wisdom, grace, and the light she always carried within, helped to shape me as a child into the woman I am today. I love when I find her published writings and see how God used her so beautifully. She is one of my role models and I hope that she’s smiling and proud of my growth over the years, and my willingness to walk more intimately with God. Thank you Othermommy!

Scripture

…the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 NIV

Reflection

You can’t get better in any aspect of your life without practice; without trying repeatedly; without trying your best and working to improve upon that. That is how a skill is developed and mastered. This is exactly how we should approach everything in our life, and most importantly, our walk with God and the gifts that He gives us. Only through our consistent interaction and engagement, do we create a “muscle memory” of sorts with everything that we come into contact with. The more we pray to God, the more our conversations flow and the easier it becomes to engage, listen and obey. Each gift that God has given us requires our repeated study and use, for the gift to expand its impact in our lives. It’s our applied learning, over and over again, that refines us and whatever we’re working on. If you barely “scrape the surface” then you don’t know the full capability of the gift, and you will most likely waste or misapply the gift. You don’t know what you don’t know.

Reflect back to when you first learned how to read and write. Only through repetition and trying new and different ways, did you sharpen your learning and developed a skill. You then continued working on that skill until you reached an intermediate, advanced, or even mastery level. People who are intrigued by math, science, technology, engineering, art, music, and other disciplines, consistently and continually explore the nooks, crannies, and the depths, to learn more and apply their learning. They develop a skillset that makes solving the problems, building and creating the ideas, with greater success. An athlete can be as strong as an ox, but it is the added skill that brings them success in their sport. We can have strength, endurance, and tenacity, and still fall short. When we combine those elements with the skills that come from applied knowledge, we then can succeed in our efforts.

A lot of us are swinging away with the ax, wearing ourselves out, because we don’t have the skills to fully use our gifts as they were designed. Develop the skills, sharpen your ax, apply your knowledge, and make your work seem effortless—and thank God throughout and after the process.

Prayer

Father, I pray for continued growth, learning, awareness, discernment, and clarity. I pray that I may see and embrace the gifts that You present to me. May I build the necessary skills, apply them as You direct me, and achieve the desired results. Father, I want to become the person You intend for me to be. I don’t want to waste Your gifts. I don’t want my skills and talents to be wasted. I want to build with You, Father. I want to grow with You by my side. I want to grow past the limits that I see to fully embrace all that You have waiting for me. Point me in the right direction, open my eyes and heart to see the gifts, and see how to develop the skills that I need to do the work that You have called me to do. I thank You now for the blessings and favor. I joyfully pray to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Love,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 2.1.21

Scripture

When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.

Romans 4:18

Reflection

Let us focus on what God tells us and shows us, not what the enemy tries to convince us. Focus on the Spirit and not the flesh. Be led by the Spirit not the flesh. We can overcome all things through God. He keeps His promises, He sticks to His plans, and He never leaves us. If we turn inward and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us, we can see, hear, and experience more than we ever imagined. The flesh limits us. But we’re too ignorant to realize this. We don’t see it as a tent, like Abraham’s tent that he picked up and moved over and over again, until he no longer needed that tent—and transitioned to the life he was promoted to live, as an unrestricted spiritual being. At some point, we will relinquish this tent of flesh, this temporary home we have resided in, and take up our life in our true home.

If you believe this, say “Amen” which beautifully and boldly means, “so be it” in Hebrew.

Prayer

Father, I want to believe regardless of what is going on in my life. I want to trust and have faith in You without question, doubt, or hesitancy. I want to trust in You against all odds. I want to grab ahold of my fears and slap them into submission. I’m telling the enemy to get behind me and all demons can sit down in silence. I want to remove “can’t” and “impossible” from my vocabulary and from my thinking, because there is nothing that can stand in Your way. There is nothing that You are blocked from doing. You are All in All, and You have made me promises that I know You will deliver. So I will walk wherever You tell me and do whatever You say, because you are Jehovah Jireh, and you see to it.  Fill me Father. I am a willing vessel. In Jesus’ name I praise You and pray to You. Amen.

Love,

Natasha
