Breaking Bread For 2.11.21

Message From Natasha: I want to start off by wishing my aunt Ava a very happy birthday. I love you!

Scripture

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

John 12:43-44,47,49-50 (KJV)

Reflection

We must put our faith, understanding, and reliance upon God and not man. Man is flawed through sin and easily tempted by the flesh. The perfect example of where we ought to be is Jesus— who evolved and transformed as God intended. Even in his last days when he cried out in a moment of fear and doubt, he still leaned on God and by doing so he fulfilled prophecy. From conception, Jesus was given a mission to show us the way back “home” to God. We must listen for God’s voice to comfort, protect, and guide us. We must put our faith in something we cannot see but we know we can feel every day.

Do you have that faith? Can you turn to God to heal your pain? Or do you give in to the “liar’s” whispers that tell you there is a better substitute for God? We have choices. You just have to decide if you are following God or the “liar”.

Prayer

Father, there is no other that I place before You, that I rely upon first, that I praise or worship, that I lean on, or that I talk to first but You. I hear Your voice directing me daily and You have given me the choice to listen and follow, or to ignore You and do my own thing. You sent Your Son to us to save us from ourselves and from the “liar” who would have us to believe that we can be like You and have power and glory equal to Yours. I know that You will reign forever over the world and beyond; that there is nothing good that has been created that was not created by You.

We are Your reflections, perfect only in and through You, and we’re attempting to regain our sense of self in You Father. We have stumbled, fallen, and now we struggle to reclaim who we are in, of, and through You. We have leaned more on man’s understanding than Your Word; we have relied on and imitated man more than You. We desire the things of the flesh more than we do of You. For those things, Father, I ask for forgiveness. I want to always walk in Your Light. In Your Name I pray for strength, courage, and dignity every day. Amen.

I love you all!
