Scripture

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Daniel 2:20-22 KJV

Reflection

We have to be connected and present to notice that times and seasons are changing; we have to be willing to change and grow with them. We can’t be concerned with the how, when, what, or why —just let God do what He does. The only limits to what you can receive in life are the ones that you place upon yourself by thinking you can overrule or rush His will. When we walk courageously, fearlessly, respectfully, and selflessly with God — there are no limits — because He always provides the Gate.

Prayer

Father, today I open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. I will be present and willing to accept today’s lessons and blessings, not concerned about yesterday or tomorrow. I trust that You are with me directing my steps. Thank You for helping me grow in every area of my life. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others.

Scripture

“The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.”

Daniel 8:26

Reflection

Sometimes we receive visions, premonitions, and messages delivered in dreams, and we aren’t sure of their interpretation, purpose, or relevance. Some of us dismiss them as casual dreams that the mind manufactured from commingled messages gathered from numerous sources. While some of us believe that the messages have meaning, we desperately seek the answers through our own means and methods. Then there are some people who turn to God and ask Him the meaning, relevance, and how best to proceed.

Sometimes the messages we receive look into the past, present, near future, or distant future. But no matter what, we aren’t to lean into our own understanding—we’re to rely upon God [Proverbs 3:5-6].

Sometimes we’re too focused on what other people have or what they’re doing. We get competitive, jealous, or envious.

Stay in your lane, focused on you and what you’re supposed to do. You’re bound to crash if you’re busy looking over in someone else’s lane. If you’re busy stressing over whether someone’s going to cross into or over your lane, don’t—let God handle that. If you’re living in fear that someone will take what’s yours, remember that it’s not yours; it’s God’s—and our Father-Mother will handle that also. Just live your life today and for today.

Prayer

Father, I pray to keep my eyes and mind focused on today and what You have planned for me to do, experience, and express—not on what tomorrow could or could not bring, and not on what did or didn’t happen in the past.

I just want to stay in my lane, on the path You have carved out especially for me, and give my all every second of today. In Jesus’ Name I pray to You Father. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others.

I love you all!

I don’t want to concern myself with what someone else is doing or not doing, because You are working with them on making their way down their path, at the speed and intensity You expect of and for them.

Father strengthen me.

Fill me Lord and let my cup run over where it can never run low; and let me see and feel this as my reality, never doubting its capacity— if I’m never doubting You. Doubt in one is doubt in the other.

I pray to You and praise You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 12.12.18

Scripture

At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.”

Daniel 6:4-5

Reflection

Do you know how difficult it is to not find fault in someone else? Those men looked high and low, and in between to find some ‘dirt’ on Daniel. They tried to find one shred of evidence to prove that he was corrupt, untrustworthy, and negligent—but found NOTHING! That is beyond deep. What man or woman can stand here today and claim to never have been negligent, untrustworthy or corrupt on any level?

We turn and tell someone’s personal business soon after they tell us, we take longer breaks at work—knowing it’s against the rules; lie about why we’re late to work or couldn’t come in; we don’t complete tasks at home and at work because our minds were on doing something we wanted to do (something more enjoyable).

How many of you have taken office supplies from work? How many of you don’t spend enough time with your husband, wife, significant other, kids—when you know you can make time? Who’s raising your children—you or their grandmother or nanny/babysitter? How many of you have been unfaithful in a relationship?

No judgment from me, I’m just asking, and making a point.

Daniel didn’t do any of these things. Daniel’s trust and faith was in God, so he walked the path God placed before him; he entered situations that most of us would flee from—but he did so with confidence, with a belief that if it was meant for him to be there then that is where he would remain. Fear makes us do stupid things. Fear makes us react instead of reflect. Fear makes us turn inward instead of turn to God. Daniel did not walk in fear— he walked in the strength of God.

Today let us take the first step towards walking as Daniel did. Let us strive to be the type of people where no matter what someone tries to dig up in the future, they simply can’t find it.

Prayer

Father I want to be and live more like Daniel. I want my focus so keenly set on You and Your commands that no fault of wrongdoing can be found and made as a claim against me. I want to be whole and complete in You and in Your Word Father, that I seek comfort only with and in You; that I desire only the things I need and know that in time— when You say it’s time— You will see fit that I have those necessities. In Your laws and in man’s laws I want to walk uprightly so that in neither case will I ever be a disappointment to You. Thanking You now for the things that are still to come. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 9.5.18

Scripture

“And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭2:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Reflection

We have to be connected and present to notice that times and seasons are changing; we have to be willing to change and grow with them. We can’t be concerned with the how, when, what, where, or why—just let God do what He does.

The only limits to what you can receive in life are the ones you place on yourself. When we walk courageously, fearlessly, respectfully and selflessly with God—there are no limits.

Prayer

Father, today I open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. I will be present and willing to accept today’s lessons and blessings, not concerned about yesterday or tomorrow.

I trust that You are with me directing my steps. Thank You for helping me grow in every area of my life. Amen.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 1.11.17

Today I decided to share another post from the past. This one, I wrote four years ago today, on January 11, 2013.

When you’re going through valleys and ditches, facing humongous mountains, or find yourself on the edge of a cliff–it’s sometimes helpful to look back on a time when you were facing something of similar intensity, or worse.

What were you going through? How did you face those issues? What was your prayer to God? What was the end result? Did you succeed, fail, or find yourself in time out?

Today, let’s read and then recite a scripture, prayer, and reflection that I shared four years ago. You may be going through a rough time right now, or you just made it through a storm—how much faith do you have in God?

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 1.11.13

There are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men have ignored you, the king; they do not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

Then in a furious rage Nebuchadnezzar gave orders to bring in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king. Nebuchadnezzar asked them, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, is it true that you don’t serve my gods or worship the gold statue I have set up?

Now if you’re ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music, fall down and worship the statue I made. But if you don’t worship it, you will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire — and who is the god who can rescue you from my power? ”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we don’t need to give you an answer to this question. If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king.

But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

Daniel 3:12-18 HCSB

Pray

Father I pray for the faith, strength, courage and conviction to never back down from serving and worshipping only You. I pray that even if faced with death or torture that I would never turn my back on You. Father even if tempted by the riches of the world, I pray for the fullness within to resist. I know that You are always with me and that even if I don’t see immediate, or any, action from You, there is a reason that I’m not to question. I want to not question You, only trust You. In Jesus’ name I pray for more strength and courage to be a better soldier in Your army. Amen.

Reflection

How many of you would stand tall in your convictions like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? How many of you would have the courage to look directly in the eyes of a person who could take your human life, and tell them what Nebuchadnezzar heard that day? How many of you stand bold as a soldier for Christ?

If a gun was pointed at your head and you were told that you either worshipped another god or be killed, what would you do? What would you do if your choices were to serve another human as you would serve God, or be tortured or killed?

Honestly, what would you say and do?

If someone placed a pile of money, gold, and diamonds stacked high on a huge conference table and gave you the option of taking it all and turning your back on God, or walking away and watching them wipe out your bank accounts and other assets leaving you penniless, what would be your decision?

Honestly, how many of you contemplated even for a few minutes or seconds?

How many of you considered pretending to be a loyal worshipper of another god (to spare your life and limbs) but still secretly worship God? What about serving a human master instead of God? Could you justify it to spare your life? Could you convince yourself that you are only pretending to rebuke God? What about when it came to the money? Did you ever at any point say to yourself, “I could first pray to God, let Him know my plan, and ask for forgiveness. Then I would take that money, gold, and diamonds off the table to take care of my family for generations to come, and just pretend to rebuke God”?

It’s been done many times over thousands of years. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. I’m just reflecting and posing questions for all of us to consider. What is our breaking point? Negotiation point? Fake it point? Can we publicly denounce Him then risk privately worshipping Him? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t even consider faking it for the king and others, they just basically said “No. Do what you’re going to do, but we’re staying true to our God!” That’s deep.

Share your thoughts. I look forward to some healthy dialogue and reading your reflections and comments on today’s message. Happy Friday family! Have an amazing weekend, stay safe and prayed up!

Love always,

Natasha

Sunday Sermon Share Day: Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 5.31.15

Welcome to Sunday Sermon Share Day for 5.31.15

It’s been a long time since I shared a Sunday sermon. Today’s sermon comes from Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a great message. Enjoy!

Current Series – RECLAIMING OUR HEALTH

Week 2 – “God’s Rx For Our Health”

Dr. Bryan E. Crute, Founder/Senior Pastor

“You made my body, Lord: now give me sense to heed your laws.” Psalm 119:73 (TLB)

The 5 essentials of better health are…
1. Faith
“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” Proverbs 14:30 (NIV)

The Bible says that faith comes from hearing, the Word of God, and it requires us to act upon it. It’s important to study the Word of God because it helps you to counteract and offset the fears that we have within, the fears that the enemy feeds off of, and it helps to build up our faith—so God can transform us the way that He wants to.

Read Psalms 91

Do you not know what is nutritious for you or is it that you just don’t make the best food choices?
Do you keep making excuses or tell yourself “I did well this week so I’m going to treat myself today” and then find yourself down-sliding week after week thereafter?

3. Fitness
And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy—the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?” Romans 12:1 (TLB)

Healthy fitness is a lifestyle. It’s based on consistency. We work and try to balance life, work, and family—and it can be very difficult to work out, but when you’re committed and consistent it will always pay off. It’s a lifestyle choice that you make.
You have to make a mental choice and be consistent. There are some people who are a “5” and are self-motivators, it’s rare to find a person who is a “5” who isn’t self-motivated. They make up their mind and just do it. They don’t make excuses based on age, work, etc.
You have to be proactive and the reason your workouts hurt is because you aren’t properly fueled with God’s medications of fruit and vegetables, and not the poisons of fast food.
Dr. Kay, resident MD for the church says, most people aren’t designed to be on our own and self-motivated, they work better in groups. Self-motivators prioritize food and fitness to be #1 priority, but if you aren’t then you need to stay close to a self-motivator who can encourage you to redirect your priorities to become healthier and fitter.

4. Focus
“Do not be shaped by this world. Instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God and what is perfect.” Romans 12:2 (ICB)

In the area of mental health (not mental illness) how is it that you rate below a 4? Considering strategies that can help reel you in and help you focus. What’s the deal with ADD and ADHD, and doctors prescribing medicine to help force-focus people.
Dr. Kay says that, not to knock traditional medicine, as she is now a holistic practitioner now, she sees individuals as individuals and believes that not everyone learns and processes information the say, and that it may not necessarily be attention deficit, but rather looking at one’s environment, eating habits, and how you process information. Your brain is a muscle and what you do today will impact it for many tomorrow’s. Eating healthy food and natural supplements (like fish oils) to help your brain, heart, and body.

5. Friends
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NLT)

Do you have anyone in your life that you can help and who can help you? If not, ask yourself why? Did you purge your “friends” list because they were toxic? Are you now afraid to open yourself up to allowing new potential friends to enter?
Were you the person who was toxic and your friends just couldn’t tolerate your behavior and toxicity any longer? What can you do to become healthy again so that you can align with new, healthy friend again?
Friends are your network, circle of relationships, sometimes like-minded. Friends are your companions.
The greatest value of joining life circle groups in houses of faith, is the sense of community, with people walking the same journey–understanding what you’re going through, and there’s a mutual alignment as all members work together to lift themselves and each other up.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 12.18.13

Then the man who makes announcements for the king spoke in a loud voice, “All you people from many nations and language groups, listen to me. This is what you are commanded to do: You must bow down as soon as you hear the sound of all the musical instruments. When you hear the horns, flutes, lyres, sambucas, harps, bagpipes, and all the other musical instruments, you must worship the gold idol. King Nebuchadnezzar has set this idol up. Whoever does not bow down and worship this gold idol will immediately be thrown into a very hot furnace.”

So as soon as they heard the sound of the horns, flutes, lyres, sambucas, bagpipes, and all the other musical instruments, they bowed down and worshiped the gold idol. All the peoples, nations, and different language groups there worshiped the gold idol that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

 Pray
Father may I always have my eyes, heart, and mind connected to You. I pray that I don’t sell out to other sources, people, or things, but that I would rather sacrifice all the comfort and wealth just to be Your servant. I would rather have Your love, protection, healing, and guidance than all of the money and resources in the world. Through You I am and always will be wealthy. I hope to never forget this. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

 Reflection

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego weren’t the only people to refuse to bow down to the golden idol, but they definitely ruffled enough feathers and demonstrated their faith in God on a large enough scale that it is their story we read today.

How many people have sold out and bowed down to idols? How many have sold out for a job or career, car, house, money, jewelry, for a relationship with someone, or for a way out of a situation that they believed was hopeless?

What if we had the trust and faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? What if we truly believed that God would see us through, and if He didn’t, then He had something else planned for us—and we would willingly take that journey, how would our lives and daily walk be different? The fear of the unknown holds us back, but have you read the story of the twins in the mother’s womb? I re-posted it on my blog:

There’s an unknown long before our birth and we don’t know what to expect on the other side, but when it’s our time we come out and enter the world kicking and screaming, until we realize that everything is okay, and that unseen source that took care of us for so long is real.

If you say God is real then you have to work at letting go of the perceived safety net that keeps you from giving your all to Him. It’s only choking you off and blocking your blessings.

 Lovingly your sister in Christ,

 Natasha
