Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 12.7.17

Scripture

Jesus’ brothers said to him, “You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, “The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.

You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come.”

However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, “He is a good man.” Others replied, “No, he deceives the people.”

John 7:3-8, 10, 12

Prayer

Father let my time be at Your calling, not man’s. Let me stand firm in my convictions and not be swayed by public opinion. Let me move and act when You say; let my words come from You. Let me shine Your light in darkness, and reveal the truth through demonstration. In Your son Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Reflection

Jesus knew those around him that did not truly believe in him. He knew there were people, even his brothers, that were only around him through convenience- but they were not really loyal. He knew that behind his back they would talk. He knew that in good times they would hang around, but in bad times they wouldn’t be found.

Jesus understood the magnitude of the cross he had to bear and the commitment of his work as God’s chosen son. He could see clearly the path he needed to take and that he would only walk when and where our Father told him. Jesus was never blind to what was taking place around him. He could see the ‘set-up’ long before the plans were set in motion. His connection with our heavenly Father gave him both wisdom and discernment to see his way through, and to see through people.

We must not be moved by what others say or do. We must wait on the Lord to guide our steps. We only need to show ourselves, to act, when God commands us to- until then just listen and watch; and be prepared to see the worth of those around you.

Have an amazing Thursday, be warmed by your blessings, and thank God for another day. God bless you all. Thank you.

Love,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 7.23.12

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Proverbs 3:9, 10 NIV

Pray
Father I have placed other things before You. Today I didn’t start my day with You as my center, and throughout my day I didn’t place You as my top priority.

If it weren’t for You I wouldn’t be blessed and have the gifts that surround me each day, so to honor You I will not allow anything or anyone to distract me from praying and meditating each morning and each night. I will watch how I speak, control my thoughts, and consider the outcome before I act.

I give my time first to You Lord. Amen.

Reflection
The busyness of life can sometimes throw us off track consuming us with human priorities, as we quickly forget our spiritual ones.

There are days when instead of starting my day reading my Bible, praying, reflecting, and writing this blog entry–I instead trip into something else that I know is less important and meaningful. Those days I am weak.

So I pray to God for the strength to remain focused on learning and sharing God’s Word, and being the best servant that I can be. I also pray that God strengthens you, guides you, and opens your eyes to the numerous possibilities that life has to offer. I am grateful that He has brought us together.

Together let’s lovingly encourage each other to put God first as our day begins and ends, in all of our decisions, and in every relationship.

Have a blessed evening!

Love always your sister in Christ,

Natasha
