Scripture

For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

Deuteronomy 30:16 NIV

Reflection

God is ever-present. He’s always speaking to us, showing us the Truth and the way, and protecting us from ourselves and others. We must take that step forward and never look back. We must learn to obey—always—even when we don’t understand, even when the fear inside feels overwhelming, even when the circumstances that surround us seem insurmountable. This is our continued struggle. Each day is a test. But we are designed to succeed.

Prayer

Father, I am trying. You know this. You know my heart. Thank You for loving me even as I struggle with getting out of my own way, and living as You command. I love You. I need You. I’m grateful for our relationship, our connection, Your presence, and Your constant love. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha

Breaking Bread for 1.23.20

Scripture

For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

Deuteronomy 30:16

Reflection

How simple is this command, yet how difficult we struggle with fulfilling our promise to God to love Him, obey Him, and do everything He asks of us?

Amazing isn’t it?

Can you imagine how many more blessings we are missing out on simply because we can’t follow this command fully?

Our choice to place conditions on our relationship with Him, restricts us from having the type of relationship that we need—and ironically, that we truly want. We’re walking around sabotaging the beauty and blessings in our lives and before they manifest.

Remember what I said yesterday about finding and connecting with that inner child, your lost child. It is that essence that frees you. It is in that mind space that you let go and let God. Without need to control or constantly question, out of doubt.

The Kingdom is inside of you. The peace you long for is already inside of you. God is not removed from you. He is not detached. He is not absent. He is within you and around you. Just reach out.

Prayer

Father, I thank You for Your patience and care as I walk and stumble, frequently, on this path that You have placed before me. I want to be obedient, keep Your commands, decrees, and laws.

I want to love You fully and unconditionally. I want to do right, live right, and be free in righteousness. I know this can only happen if I follow and obey You fully, completely, and at all times of my life.

Thank You Father for understanding my struggle, fear, frustration, and uncertainty. And never leaving my side as I work to be more like Your son— and more like the child You created me to be. Thank You for my countless blessings Father. Continue to bless me and enlarge my territory. Amen.

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 7.18.19

Scripture

For I command you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahweh your God may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.

Deuteronomy 30:16 WEB

Reflection

God always shows us and protects us. We must take that step forward and never look back, in doubt. We must learn to obey—yes, always—even when we don’t understand. This is our continued struggle. But we are designed to succeed.

I can be hard-headed. More times than I want to admit, I find myself saying, “uugh why didn’t I just listen and obey?” Yet, I’m comforted in knowing that God loves me even in my hard-headedness. When I “fall”, it is humbling, because I clearly forgot how hard that “ground” is—I mean, why would I subject myself to such pain if I remembered how awful it is? Why do I expect a different outcome?

As the saying goes, “…lessons are repeated until they are learned, and then we’re given a new lesson….” I’m currently repeating some lessons. I feel stupid, but hey, until I get this right, I will be like that album that keeps skipping on the record player. I’m praying for realignment, to rise above my current circumstances, and to thrive—not just survive.

Some of us feel like we’re living in our washer machine, on the agitate or spin cycle. It’s a rough time. We just have to remind ourselves that, at some point, the washer machine will stop. We will be removed. We will unfold, unwrinkle, and be given another chance to have a new experience. God was never not there. He was present before, during, and after our washer machine experience. Try to look at the positive takeaways from that experience.

Right now, just like me, you may be struggling with something, or a bunch of somethings. What part of the cycle are you in?

Is the water just pouring in? Are you in the wash cycle? Or has the water started to drain out? Maybe you’re starting or halfway in the rinse cycle. Or, is it that second draining cycle after the rinse? If you’re in the spin cycle, just hold on family—it’s almost over! Hmmm or maybe you are in that weird stage, where the machine has stopped and you’re just there, not sure what to do next. Don’t worry. Ask God, and He will tell you, the lid or door will be opened and you will be removed.

Don’t get ahead of yourself. Don’t start stressing over whether you will be air-dryed on a line, rack, or table. Don’t freak out dreading the heat of the dryer. Just be present, and know that you will be well cared for, and you will soon have more opportunities than you could ever imagine.

It may be an odd way of looking at your life and circumstances, but sometimes those visuals can help you to see the hope that you almost walked away from. Grab ahold and don’t let go. God isn’t letting go of you! He is with you before, during, and after each of those cycles. Hold on!

Prayer

Father, I am trying. You know this. You know my heart. Thank You for loving and nurturing me as I struggle with getting out of my own way, and living as You command. I love You. I need You. Always. Amen.

Love always,

Natasha

Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection for 2.9.16

Scripture
Deuteronomy 30:16

Pray

Father You know me and my heart. You know when I’m going to slip before I do it. You know what I’m going to say before I utter the words. You know my thoughts, so you know the actions that I will take before they are made.

Please forgive me for what I’ve done in the past and what I might do today. I pray for the strength to resist the urge to speak and act in any way that is displeasing to You. I pray for discernment to see clearly the ways, intent, and meaning of others so that I don’t get caught up in their nonsense. I pray for peace within. Amen.

Reflection

No one said this journey would be easy. No one said being a Christian was a cakewalk. But it has been said countless times that it is all worth it. Keep your head up, your eyes focused, and your heart warm.
