Breaking Bread For 7.27.20

Scripture

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

—Galatians 6:1 NLT

Reflection

Pray for those who can’t or won’t pray for themselves. Pray for those who won’t forgive themselves. Pray for those who won’t forgive others. Pray for those who won’t forgive you.

Pray for yourself; that you learn to forgive those who have hurt and betrayed you. Pray that you can stop what you’re doing right now, and have the weight of guilt, anger, shame, pride, ego, arrogance, hate, and fear removed from your shoulders— removed from your life.

Pray that at this very moment you can say aloud or think silently the name(s) of those people who wronged you, and you can begin forgiving them. Pray for the strength to ask for forgiveness from those individuals you have hurt. Even if they don’t accept your apology or you can’t locate them, be free in knowing that you tried and took the steps towards healing, and then inhale the fresh air of God’s peace—and be healed!

You can’t control what someone else does, says or thinks, but you can control your thoughts, actions, and speech. You can determine the kind of relationship you will have with Jesus and God. You can either continue walking around in pain or free yourself and live. What do you want for your life?

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving me a forgiving spirit because I know in order for me to receive my blessings I must be a blessing. To be forgiven I must forgive. I have to stop carrying around the weight of offenses against me, and of those I committed. Guilt, shame, sorrow, anger, and vengeance, are useless weights to carry. They serve no purpose and build nothing of substance. They don’t honor and glorify You. I seek instead resolve and peace.

Thank You father for peace, harmony, love, family, and good friendships that surround me. I know that in order to receive I must willingly give. As You pour into me help me to pour into others, while I also empty out all that which is not of You.

Father I thank You for life, and another day to praise, glorify, and worship you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I love you all in Christ!

Father, thank You for giving me a forgiving spirit because I know in order for me to receive my blessings I must forgive those whom have trespassed against me.

Thank You Father for peace, harmony, love, family and good friendships that surround me. I know that in order to receive I must be a giver.

May I pour into others what You have poured into me; may I give to others what I receive from You—even to those who seem undeserving, please touch my heart to give anyway.

Thank You for life, and another day to praise and worship You Father. In Jesus’ name I let go and turn to You. Amen.

I love you all in Christ!
