Seek Him

Today’s message is from Day 23 of my book Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “Waiting for God.”

For the vision is yet for an appointed time.

—Habakkuk 2:3 KJV

Vision is the big picture outlook of where and what you want to be in the future. God places these images in our minds so that we can see the potential of what lies ahead if we choose to pursue the path. Many of us rush to reach the vision before it has fully formed in our minds.  We attempt to cut corners and take shortcuts. We don’t realize that we’re not prepared to reach that finish line. We haven’t yet conditioned our mind, body, and spirit to endure the rigorous tests that life will bring.

God knows when the time will come. He knows when you are ready. He will provide you with the resources to build the physical and spiritual “muscles” that you need to persevere and succeed. We must surrender to His ways, His plans, His timing, and His truth. To surrender, you must let go of the things, people, ideas, and feelings that are holding you back. You have to let go of everything that will hold you back. God says that we can have our hearts’ desire. The question is whether we want to let go, so we’re freed to grab ahold of what He has for us. We have choices. Let go, patiently wait for Him, be obedient to His direction, and then let Him do what only He can.

Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for choosing me. Thank You for placing me in the right place for my provisions to show up at the right time. Thank You for giving me grace and peace of mind. Remove my fears so that they won’t steal the destiny You have planned. Amen.

Today I received this message from my friend Juanita.

The writer of this message is Joel Osteen. It was and is exactly what I needed to read and recite today. So rather than keep it to myself I’m paying it forward to you, and hopefully you will share it with someone who needs to feel and embrace these words. I created an image and captured the essence of what Joel’s message conveys. Consider saving it to your phone or computer to read when you need a reminder about God’s timing.

Thank you Juanita for your love and for thinking of me when certain messages come through that remind you of me and my circumstances.

The Best Time

“The vision is yet for an appointed time…”

“Habakkuk 2:3, NKJV)

The scripture says, “The vision is for an appointed time.” That means there is a specific time already determined for the fulfillment of the desires God has placed in your heart. The appointed time is the best time!

We have to trust that God can see the big picture for our lives. He knows what’s up ahead. He knows what we’re going to need, who we’re going to need, and when they need to show up. If God did everything we ask on our timetable, it would limit us because sometimes, what we’re asking for is too small.

Sometimes the person we think we can’t live without, God knows in ten years they’re not going to be good for us. So He is closing the door right now. Sometimes the promotion we want so badly, if God gave it to us right now, He knows it would keep us from a much bigger promotion that He has three years down the road.

Remember, God has the advantage of seeing it all. The longer I live, the more I trust Him. The more I see His hand of faithfulness, the more I know that His plan is better than my plan. Today, trust that He knows what He’s doing. Trust that He has an appointed time, and it is the best time to bring to pass His promises in your life!

Father, today I put my dreams, desires, hopes and longings into Your loving hands. I trust that the vision You have given me is for an appointed time. I know Your timing is best so I will praise You until I see the promise in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wait for It!

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarry, wait for it…”
(Habakkuk 2:3, KJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you’ve tried and failed doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Don’t give up on those dreams! Don’t be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how impossible things look, if you’ll stay in faith, your set time is coming.

Remember, every dream that’s in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God put it there. Not only that, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Hold on to that vision today. Declare by faith, “My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. I will fulfill my destiny!” As you continue to hold on to that vision and speak life over your dreams, it won’t be long before you see them begin to take shape. You’ll see your faith grow, you’ll see your hope strengthen, and you’ll see yourself step into the destiny God has prepared for you!

Father, thank You for placing dreams and desires in my heart. I trust that You are at work to bring them to pass even when I can’t see it, even when it’s taking longer than I thought. I know that You are faithful, and I trust You completely in Jesus’ name, Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen
