Breaking Bread For 9.1.21

Scripture

The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.

Isaiah 2:17-18

Reflection

We can’t do a thing without God. He must make a way for every thought, decision or indecision we make. All that we have and all that we are, is only because He allows it. If that’s not humbling I don’t know what more to say. Think about it.

Prayer

Father, today as You continue to mold me please know that I am working on overcoming my fears, and that I want to be freed from the bondage of pride and any arrogance, no matter how minor they appear to me—for they are incredibly large to You.

I want a clean heart Lord. I want to walk with my head up high, humble in righteousness, and not in arrogance and vanity. I know that the more crooked I walk the more times I will fall, and the harder each fall will be, which will also make it harder to rise to my feet. Help me Father. I humbly pray to You this day and each day. Amen.

Lovingly your sister in Christ,

Breaking Bread For 9.1.20

Scripture

The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.

Isaiah 2:17-18

Reflection

We can’t do a thing without God. When we think we can work around Him, usurp His authority, or figure it out alone, we fail miserably. And what’s ironic is that God allowed us to do it. He gives us the choice. He also allows us to fail so we can learn the lesson we refused to see and acknowledge in the beginning.

Whether it be our alignment or our defiance, He must make a way for every thought, decision or indecision we make. If that’s not humbling I don’t know what more to say….Think about it.

Prayer

Father, today as You continue to mold me please know that I am working on facing, learning from, and overcoming my fears—and please know that I want to be freed from the bondage of pride, shame, and any arrogance, no matter how minor they appear to me— for they are incredibly large to You.

I want a clean heart Lord. I want to walk with my head up high, humble in righteousness and not big-headed in arrogance and vanity. I know that the more crooked I walk the more times I will fall, and each fall will be more intense, which will also make it harder to get up. Help me Father to realign and remain aligned. I’m grateful for Your patience, grace, and mercy. I humbly pray to You this day. Amen.
