Scripture

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Mark 11:22-25 NIV

Reflection

While you’re busy thinking about the worst possible outcomes, fear’s blocking you from seeing the best. Let faith guide you!

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we started believing, embracing, and having total faith in God?

What’s the best possible outcome?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we let go and let God?

What’s the best that could happen to us?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we stared fear down to the nothingness it is?

Now consider the best outcome.

Wanna give it a try?

Prayer

Father, I know that I sometimes speak “big talk” and then let fear grab ahold of me. I don’t want to be fearful. I want to see past obstacles and understand the lie of fear, so that I’m never phased by it. I want to walk with Your peace in my heart and life. I’m here Father. I’m ready. Let’s do this!

Lovingly,

Natasha

Breaking Bread For 9.14.20

Mark 11:22-25 NIV

Reflection

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we started believing, embracing, and having total faith in God?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we let go and let God do His job without our meddling and interference?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we stared fear down to the nothingness it is?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we refused to keep carrying around the dead weight of old pain?

What’s the worst possible thing that could happen if we stopped dwelling on what someone else did or said to us, and we just forgave them?

Now think of all the best case scenarios for each of those examples.

Wanna give it a try? Or is misery the outfit you choose to wear each day? God keeps telling you that it doesn’t look good on you. Joy fits much better. As does peace and contentment. He won’t just jump and change it for you. You have to choose. So, what’s your decision?

Prayer

Father, I know I sometimes speak “big talk” and then let fear grab ahold of me, and I go silent. I don’t want to be fearful. I want to see past obstacles and understand the lie of fear, so that I’m never phased by it.

Courage is walking in fear and attempting the task anyway. I want fear to be a tool to assist me, not shackles that bind me. I want to be aware of the thing or situation that causes me fear, quickly assess the true risks, and follow Your lead.

I want to walk with Your peace in my heart and life. I waste too much precious time contemplating, complaining, and hiding in fear. I’m here Father. As a believer and follower of Your son, Jesus, I praise You and I humbly pray to You. Amen.

Lovingly,

Natasha
