Special Note

Today’s message is an excerpt from Day 240 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme of the message is “Supplement Faith.” You can acquire this book, the companion workbook, and the other books that make up the Seek Him series by searching for their titles and my name online and at local retailers. You can also visit DOMELifePublishing.com.

Scripture

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The person who lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins.

— 2 Peter 1:5-9 CSB

Reflection

Humble yourself. Never forget who you are and to Whom you belong. We’re to stand tall in Him. We’re also supposed to actively demonstrate our commitment to the relationship that we have with God and our duties to be performed in the world. We’re told to create inside of us a lasagna of sorts. The base layer is faith, and then we’re to layer in goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and top it all off with love. These are the fruits that we would possess and share. The fruits of God’s tree. Possessing these qualities puts us in perfect alignment with Him. I don’t know about you, but there’s no other place where I would rather be than nestled in close to God.

Prayer

Father, I pray for the balance needed to be loving and loved to forgive others and myself, and to have control over my emotions and actions. I pray for the endurance to see through this marathon of ups and downs, and the knowledge to discern the pattern of the enemy. I thank You now for these blessings. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others.

Special Note

Today’s message is an excerpt from Day 187 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme of the message is “Absolution.” You can acquire this book, the companion workbook, and the other books that make up the Seek Him series by searching for their titles online and at local retailers.

Scripture

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Isaiah 1:18

Reflection

We may obsess over our sins and worry whether or not God has or will ever forgive us. God has always said that if we repent, ask for forgiveness, and not repeat the sin, then we are not only forgiven, but He moves on as though we never disappointed Him. There are things that we struggle to forgive ourselves for. Let go. God did. You keep holding on to something that has been reconciled by Him. Let go. If you still haven’t forgiven someone for hurting you, pray for the strength and courage to forgive, and then let it go so that your healing can begin. The peace that will ultimately enshroud you will be your reassurance that all is well. Let go!

Prayer

Father, heal me, protect me, and forgive me for my wrongdoings. Help me to let go, forgive, and accept forgiveness. In Jesus’ Name, I humbly pray. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others.

I love you!

Scripture

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Daniel 2:20-22 KJV

Reflection

We have to be connected and present to notice that times and seasons are changing; we have to be willing to change and grow with them. We can’t be concerned with the how, when, what, or why —just let God do what He does. The only limits to what you can receive in life are the ones that you place upon yourself by thinking you can overrule or rush His will. When we walk courageously, fearlessly, respectfully, and selflessly with God — there are no limits — because He always provides the Gate.

Prayer

Father, today I open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. I will be present and willing to accept today’s lessons and blessings, not concerned about yesterday or tomorrow. I trust that You are with me directing my steps. Thank You for helping me grow in every area of my life. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others.

Note

Today’s message comes from Day 228 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “Without Hesitation.”

Scripture

There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed,” and immediately he got up.

Acts 9:33-34 HCSB

With the same conviction that Peter commanded Aeneas to get up, without doubt, or hesitation, Aeneas stood up. Aeneas believed without question. He believed in God’s healing and in God’s servants’ ability to heal through His power. He believed in the name of Jesus (Yeshua). He could have said, “Man, are you crazy? I’m paralyzed, and I’ve been stuck in this bed for eight long miserable years; there’s no way that I can get up and make my bed; how could I possibly be healed just because you say I am?” But Aeneas didn’t say a word. He didn’t sit there pondering what Peter said for several hours or even several minutes. Nope, he immediately got up. How awesome would life be to have that level of belief? Think about it.

Prayer

Father, heal me of all inflictions, fears, doubts, and pain. I believe that there are no limits to You and Your healing power. I believe that You sent Your son to give us hope, to show us the way to You, and to show us how to live our lives and love others as You intend. You sent Jesus to show us who and what we are, and just as we are in You, You are in us. Your power and Light live within us. Father, I want to respond like Aeneas without hesitation. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

And with that family, I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others. Check out Day 228 in my book to complete the Speak Your Truth section that follows the prayer. And you can go deeper by completing the corresponding activity in the companion workbook, Seek Him Workbook 2. If you haven’t purchased either book, you can find them, and the other books that make up my Seek Him series, online and through many local retailers. I hope that they bless and enrich you!

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 122 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “We’re Never Sure How We’re Being Used.” It has been reformatted to align with this blog’s format.

Scripture

The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.”

“But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.”

But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Acts 9:11-16 NLT

Reflection

We’re never sure whom God has called upon. We’re never sure how God is using us and others to help the least of His children and to spread His love and Word. Don’t question Him, just obey.

Prayer

Father use me, direct me, and open my eyes to see. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 202 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “Women Builders.”

Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-district of Jerusalem, repaired the next section with the help of his daughters.

—Nehemiah 3:12 NIV

Reflection

The Bible shares numerous accounts of women in non-traditional roles, showing women as builders, soldiers, leaders, disciples, and defenders of households. These accounts help to reinforce the position of why we should not force women into stereotypical “boxes”, but rather encourage women to walk comfortably wherever God guides them. We need to encourage and support the girly girl and the tomboy, the domestic engineer and the mechanical engineer, the teacher, and the entrepreneur. Women can be leaders in the church, in government, in business, on the court, in the community, and in the military. If God places no limits, then neither should His children.

PRAYER

Father may Your children see the power, strength, gifts, and intelligence possessed by Your daughters. May Your daughters never take for granted the abilities You give them or feel entitled to boast or brag. May we all see the equality and equity that You created and planned in man and woman. I pray for our humility in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 193 of my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “Don’t Be Deceived.” The message has been reformatted to align with the format of this blog.

Scripture

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him: We ask you, brothers, not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits in God’s sanctuary, publicizing that he himself is God.

—2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 HCSB

Reflection

Don’t focus your attention on what people prophesy about Jesus’ coming. Throughout the Bible, it is made clear by Jesus and his disciples that we will never know the day in which he will return and the magnitude that it will have before or during his arrival. What we need to instead focus on is doing God’s work as His servants, and let tomorrow be dealt with by God. Trust and believe there’s not enough leeway to change your ways on the day of his arrival. If Jesus descended today as is described in the Bible, the majority of us wouldn’t be on the “good” list, or the “you get a pass list”.

This is why we should live each day with anticipation of his arrival, aligning ourselves to his ways and God’s will, not thinking that we will be given a reprieve on the day of Jesus’ return. Jesus said he was here to separate the wheat from the weeds, and when he returns he won’t be strolling through with the tender grace that people took for granted when he lived and breathed in his human body over 2,000 years ago. When he returns he’s coming to fight in the war for souls, to destroy Satan, and to bring judgment to those who walked faithfully in belief versus those who chose instead a life embraced in the flesh. Don’t be deceived into believing that Jesus already came, judged and that the war was already fought. Because if it was, look around you, at our world. This ain’t bliss folks. We’re still in chaos. Get right and get aligned.

Prayer

Father, please remove the fear and worry from me that paralyzes me from obeying You. Mold out of me the inclination to worry and contemplate the things that I cannot change, bring about, or create. Help me to see the deceiver’s tricks and lies. Help me to see these shackles of the flesh. Help me to see the true freedom in the spirit, in Your Spirit. Help me to tune in and hear Your voice above all others, even when Your words are a slight whisper. I want to be aligned with You, walking in full obedience, without doubt. I want a life serving and living with You, not enslaved to the enemy. I pray these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 168 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “No Limits.”

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 166 in my book, Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme is “Fight the “Liar.” It has been reformatted to align with this blog.

Scripture

You are not the kind of God who is pleased with evil. Sinners can’t stay with you. No one who boasts can stand in your presence, Lord, and you hate evil people. You destroy every liar, and you despise violence and deceit. You do what is right, and I ask you to guide me. Make your teaching clear because of my enemies. Nothing they say is true! They just want to destroy. Their words are deceitful like a hidden pit, and their tongues are good only for telling lies.

—Psalm 5:4-6,8-9 CEV

This message is for those of you who are under attack by people who can’t make it through their day without trying to harm you and your relationship with God. This message is for those of us who are constantly under attack by the “liar”. The spiritual enemy, the father of lies, who tries to convince us that we are not worthy of God’s blessings. The lies that say that we can’t do the things we are attempting and desiring in our lives; that we can’t have the very things that we are working so hard to get. The “liar” will whisper words of fear, doubt, and hate into your ears. It will try to convince you to envy (or covet) others. It tries to convince you to doubt yourself. It wants you to be insecure with your appearance, mental ability, and spiritual connectedness to God. You must fight the “liar” and your human enemy the same way, each and every day—through and with God! We must pray to Him for guidance, clarity, strength, protection, discernment, and the voice to say to our enemies, “No. You are a liar. I will not listen to you or sink down to your level. God is my Light, Strength, Comforter, and Salvation, and I will leave this between you and Him!” Then we must step back and let God deal with the transgressions of our enemies.

We must never sink down to the level of our enemy, who is possibly at the lowest depths that one can live. As my mom always said to me when I was growing up, “Don’t fight in someone else’s yard. They always have the advantage“. Know who you are and what you are—God’s child—and walk upright in His glory and countless blessings. Walk in the knowledge that God’s arms encircle you. Your enemy can only harm you when you let them in, and stop relying on God to be your security gates!

PRAYER

I am thanking You now Father, for keeping my eyes on You; for guiding me to where I need to be—despite the attempts of the “liar” and those influenced by evil, to steer my mind and heart away from You. Thank You for helping me rise above pettiness, jealousy, envy, anger, fear, hatred, and a desire to retaliate against those who attack me. In and through You I know the Truth. No matter what anyone else says or does, I know that You will always prevail and reveal Your Truth to all. Thank You, Father, for Your constant love. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 130, my book Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone.

Scripture

Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

—Isaiah 2:22 NIV

Reflection

Our relationship with God is our very own. We do not need man to bring us closer, to analyze the depth and longevity of our relationship with Him. We do not need man to speak to God on our behalf— we can speak to God anytime we choose. We just need to make the time to talk and connect. He’s always waiting, watching, and listening. He is our provider. When our bills need to be paid, it is God that provides. When we are sick, it is God that heals us. When we are lonely, God is our comforter. When the enemy attacks, God is our shield. Turn to Him and learn to rely on Him as your Source for all. Just as Noah, Abraham, Jesus, and others did. Look at how they proved their commitment to their relationship with God. They honored the covenant they had with God. Are you half-committed in your relationship with Him? Are you partially in this? Or are you 100 percent invested in it?

PRAYER

Father, I put my trust in You. I trust You to provide me with my needs, to see me through circumstances, and to show me the answers to my problems. Even if the answers don’t arrive when I want them, I trust You. I will stop relying solely on man. I realize that although You may send a human messenger, servant, guide, or companion—they are not my source for life, truth, love, peace, joy, and healing. Only through You are these things made possible. Thank You for being my spiritual Father and Mother, my all in all. Thank You for loving me. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message is from Day 135 of my book Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone . The theme is “How Are You Investing Your Time?”

Scripture

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me?

Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

—Psalm 42:11 HCSB

Reflection

We are all tested. Scenarios will always be presented where our judgment will come to question, and our character is defined. Are we spiritually mature and tough enough? Sometimes we will be tested through our loved ones. Friends and, yes, family. For many of us, this test comes mostly from family. How do we respond? Do we release it all to God, or do we struggle to try and fix things on our own and then wonder why matters only get worse?

If things are not right in your life, pray to God to reveal all. Then look in the mirror and look within yourself. You will see the culprit and the answer to why things aren’t going the way they should. You can blame others, but you choose when and how to engage with them.

God doesn’t do chaos and disorder, only order, structure, and peace. We must fall in line to receive the life we’re supposed to have. We must do it with hope, humility, passion, and appreciation. When we continue to follow Jesus and serve God, there is constant peace— even in turmoil, because we know from Whom we belong. Pray for the way and the right turns, each step on your path. Pray that God touches those around you so that they lean on Him and not on you.

PRAYER

Father, give me the strength to endure and persevere in the worst of times. Give me the patience to wait, listen, and gain the guidance I need from You and Jesus. Fill me with the grace to handle all situations with Your Light. May I joyfully reflect Your love in my fullness. Equip me with the tools to work through any circumstance. Turn me from all negativity. Help me to stop being a leaning post for others. Instead, let me serve as an ambassador that guides them to You through Jesus. Help me, Father. Touch me to my core so that my foundation is unshakeable. Thanking You now, Father. Amen.

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from Day 136 my book Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. Yes, yesterday our lesson was from Volume 1, so today we’re hopping over to Volume 2.

Scripture

The Lord is your guardian….

—Psalm 121:5 ISV

Reflection

Oxford Dictionary defines a guardian as “a defender, protector, or keeper”. Is that not God? He defends, protects, and keeps us. There is no place where God is not. There is no problem He can’t or hasn’t solved. There is no power or presence greater than He. Remember that and be free in this knowledge.

Prayer

Father, there is no doubt in my mind that You are my defender, protector, healer, deliverer, Father, and Mother. I know that wherever I am You are. Thank You for watching over me. Thank You for always revealing the truth to me. Thank You for protecting me from the enemy and those who the enemy uses– known and unknown, seen and unseen. I praise You. Amen.

Have You Added the Seek Him Book Series to Your Toolbox?

In October 2020, I rolled out Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. Its companion workbook is Seek Him: Workbook 1. They cover months one to four on a journey to testing your spiritual comfort zone, seeing where you are versus where you want to be—and so much more.

June 2021 led to the release of Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The companion workbook is Seek Him: Workbook 2. This set picks up where the first set left off. It covers months five through eight. By this stage you should know the boundary lines of your comfort zone. You should know what comes easy and what you resist most. Now it’s time to go beyond that zone. It’s time to lovingly push yourself past what you deem acceptable, and take yourself to the next level in your relationship with God and self.

What have you been called to do? Can you do it if you keep binding yourself to the past, to your limitations and fears, to what you think you can’t do? Can you do it if you aren’t obedient to God? You should consider pulling back those layers and getting deep within to see in what ways you’re holding yourself back. You should consider adding the Seek Him book series to your toolbox.

Volume 3 is coming this Fall, unfolding the remaining four months of a year filled with learning, expressing, and living your truth. I hope you will join me on this Seek Him journey—whether your first step begins this month or later this year, having your tools nearby and ready means you are prepared to do the work. Let’s do this!

Love,

Natasha

Yes, you read that correctly. The first book makes up the three-volume series. The title of the book is “SEEK HIM, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone“. It is inspired by my journey through Breaking Bread With Natasha. In addition to a Bible verse, Reflection, and Prayer, you have daily activities such as:

Speak Your Truth” which is a daily session of affirmations and declarations that you will speak and write. They aren’t my words you’re using. They are yours. You are encouraged to speak truth over yourself.

Go Deeper” is a daily activity that challenges you to explore the theme, topics, and questions on a deeper level. To complete this activity you will be pointed to our workbook, which I will tell you more about shortly.

At the beginning of each month you will find trivia or statements about historical or cultural contexts related to the Bible. This section is called “Ponder This“. It’s purpose is to get your mind churning. You will be directed to read the corresponding “Consider This” section towards the back of the book.

Consider This is the response to Ponder This. See if your thoughts, beliefs, and understanding of the information aligns with the historical, cultural, linguistic, and religious facts provided. I didn’t just make up some information or type what I recall learning in church. I did extensive research and shared my sources in the Notes section in the back of the book.

At the end of each month there is a “Go Beyond” section which you may or may not be ready to explore, depending on your frame of mind, or what’s going on in your life. It’s also a great activity to do in Bible Study, book clubs, and with other groups.

SEEK HIM, Volume 1 comes in paperback and ebook versions.

It also has a companion workbook (as mentioned earlier) that is a tool to further encourage your deeper exploration of self, your relationship with God, and more. It’s simply titled, “SEEK HIM: Workbook 1“.

Trust me, you don’t want to skip the workbook. It truly tests your comfort zone and your knowledge of historical and cultural details from Biblical times. I was encouraged by several people to provide content that could challenge even the long-time devotees to Christ. That required hours, days, and weeks of research, fact-finding, and truth-seeking.

The culmination of this research is provided in the section of the workbook called, “Greater Context“. This section may enlighten many and shock or outrage others. All of which is great, because it keeps your mind working and thinking. Since I provided dozens upon dozens of sources, the skeptics and critics can go read those books and articles for themselves. Lifelong learning keeps us growing and our minds sharp! Each month, Volume 1 and Workbook 1 tap deeper into your mind and heart. Once you complete these books—at the end of four months, you’re then encouraged to get your copies of “SEEK HIM, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone” and its companion, “SEEK HIM: Workbook 2“, both of which have a February 2021 release date. Volume 2 and Workbook 2 continue to inspire, encourage, and challenge you through four additional months of spiritual and mental exploration.

It’s no cake walk. You can’t be passive with the SEEK HIM books. If you’re up for the challenge and you really want to seek Him at all times, and go beyond your spiritual comfort zone, then make sure you purchase these books.

By the time you finish reading those and completing the activities, you will be prepared to journey into the last four months of this book series. The third book set is our Volume 3 and Workbook 3, both of which have a scheduled book release for May 2021.

My books are being published through D.O.M.E. Life Publishing. Be sure to visit the website at DOMELIFEPUBLISHING.COM and learn more about this publishing imprint of Foreman & Associates, LLC, its mission, and the planned book releases for 2020 and 2021.

Be sure to also sign up for the newsletter so that you’re never out of the loop!I want to thank everyone who has encouraged me to write this book, or should I say, books. I never expected for it to grow and evolve into three books with three workbooks, but we never know what God has planned for us, what He’s pouring into us, and what He’s birthing through us. I’m just grateful for all of the ways He molds and uses me.

I hope that the SEEK HIM series benefits you. Lord knows that’s what I’ve been praying for since the moment I began typing the first word of Volume 1.
