… while I was sitting in my house and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, the hand of the Sovereign lord came on me there. I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal…. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood.

Then he brought me to the entrance to the court….And he said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.” ….He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The lord does not see us; the lord has forsaken the land.’”

Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the lord, and I saw women sitting there, mourning the god Tammuz…He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the lord, and there… were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.

Ezekiel 8:1-3, 5-7, 9, 12, 14, 16

If we have been told and shown examples of what God expects of us and disapproves of, then why are we still continuing the cycle of hardheadedness demonstrated by the Israelites thousands of years ago? Why is our struggle with the flesh so difficult to overcome? Why is it that when times get tough we turn to idols, man, spirits, charts, and dead gods for comfort?

Why don’t we seek out God—and His Love, Truth, Spirit, and Light?

Is it because He is not of flesh? Is it because He doesn’t casually walk amongst us like a human ruler? Do we only see Him as the distant Creator, the Heavenly King of human kings, that rules from afar and chooses to not interfere with many of our fleshly battles and quandaries? Do we not seek Him because we don’t trust Him?

Something to ponder. Maybe you will take your thoughts to Him for an honest conversation.

Father, thank You! Thank You for showing me through examples those things You detest and disapprove of as well as those things that are pleasing to You. Thank You for giving me the opportunity to do right and correct my steps.

Thank You for equipping me with the knowledge to make the right decisions and be comforted in knowing that there is no better way than Yours; there is no better justice than what You deliver, and there is nothing I would rather do than to worship and serve You.

I know You see me Father, I know You have not forsaken me, and I know that You will answer my prayers and deliver me at a time and place that You see fit. Thank You Father. Amen.

Love you always,

Seek Him

Today’s message comes from my Seek Him book series. We’re looking at Day 4 from Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The theme for Day 4 is “He is All”. Let’s break bread!

I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will strengthen you, though you do not know Me, so that all may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is no one but Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:5-6 HCSB

Did God make this crystal clear? You can read it twenty thousand times and it will still be as clear as the first time. He is IS. He is ALL. He is everything good, great, and special. He is God. None before, none during, and none after. He has you.

Father, these words, written in the book of Isaiah I believe to be true. I don’t want to ever consider otherwise. I don’t ever again want to question the when, where, why, who, and how when it comes to You. I want to be free and I know that freedom is only possible in and through You. You are all-in-all. My journey will only be successful when I live like You, believing that I am You and You are me. Help me to stop looking elsewhere and start focusing only on You. In Jesus’ Name, I humbly pray. Amen.

Speak Your Truth

There is a section in my Seek Him books that help guide you to speaking your truth. Each book has a different set of prompts to help through your spiritual growth and realignment. Let’s try out the Seek Him, Volume 1 prompts today. I will say each phrase and I want you to repeat the phrase and then speak the first words that come to your mind and heart. If you haven’t purchased Seek Him, Volume 1, you can always write these down in a notebook or journal.

I feel _____

I am _____

I believe _____

I am grateful for _____

I will improve _____

I am proud of myself because ____

I will stay out of My/God’s way by _____

Today I will focus more on ____

And focus less on ____

Today I will ___

Go Deeper

When you are ready to go deeper, please refer to Day 4 in Seek Him: Workbook 1. Yes, each Seek Him book has a corresponding workbook, designed to guide you deeper in your spiritual exploration and study. The workbooks can be standalone books but I wrote them to coincide with each Seek Him lesson, to help you test, go beyond, and never return to your spiritual comfort zone. If you’re interested in investing in the Seek Him book series, you can visit or visit, or global retailers like Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Amazon, and others.

I hope that today’s message touched your heart and inspired you in some way. I pray that you are blessed, that you see and embrace your blessings, and that you are a blessing to others!

Another Announcement or Two 📣

Hi Breaking Bread family!

So, I was so caught up in the excitement last week that I forgot to follow up with my second announcement. The first, if you missed it, you can read here and it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke either.

Today’s announcement is a much-awaited one, an update on the third and final set of my Seek Him book series. If you’re new to my blog then you may not know about my books. If you have been reading my posts for awhile then you should already know, and hopefully you have already purchased and began reading the books.

Our first set tested your spiritual comfort zone. The second set encouraged you to go beyond your spiritual comfort zone. The third set lovingly says “don’t turn back” to that comfort zone; don’t turn back to your past and dwell on what once was.

The third set will be released this Spring 2022!

Let me say now, you will want to ensure that you have the entire set. The lead book and workbook.

I also encourage you to purchase the first two sets, for yourself and for loved ones. Right now, Amazon is running a sale, so jump on them while you can. They’re also available through, (Barnes & Noble), Walmart, and other major retailers.

I really like because they support local bookstores; you know, the ones that may or may not still be located in your neighborhood? Yeah, those. In our want-it-next-day culture, let’s not forget to appreciate our local bookstores. If you don’t know of any, no worries, you can search on Bookshop or just opt to allow proceeds of your purchase to be distributed amongst the thousands of bookstores that Bookshop supports.

If you happen to be a member of Goodreads, please follow me there. I’m still navigating that space and looking forward to connecting with other book worms.

Once my third volume set has been signed off and a print date and presale date is confirmed, I will make that announcement. When I’ve been given the green light to share some sneak peeks of it, I will rush this way and do just that! I look forward to sharing this labor of love with all of you. It has blessed me and I know it will continue to bless me. I hope it blesses you too!

Have You Added the Seek Him Book Series to Your Toolbox?

In October 2020, I rolled out Seek Him, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. Its companion workbook is Seek Him: Workbook 1. They cover months one to four on a journey to testing your spiritual comfort zone, seeing where you are versus where you want to be—and so much more.

June 2021 led to the release of Seek Him, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. The companion workbook is Seek Him: Workbook 2. This set picks up where the first set left off. It covers months five through eight. By this stage you should know the boundary lines of your comfort zone. You should know what comes easy and what you resist most. Now it’s time to go beyond that zone. It’s time to lovingly push yourself past what you deem acceptable, and take yourself to the next level in your relationship with God and self.

What have you been called to do? Can you do it if you keep binding yourself to the past, to your limitations and fears, to what you think you can’t do? Can you do it if you aren’t obedient to God? You should consider pulling back those layers and getting deep within to see in what ways you’re holding yourself back. You should consider adding the Seek Him book series to your toolbox.

Volume 3 is coming this Fall, unfolding the remaining four months of a year filled with learning, expressing, and living your truth. I hope you will join me on this Seek Him journey—whether your first step begins this month or later this year, having your tools nearby and ready means you are prepared to do the work. Let’s do this!

Day 75 of Seek Him, Volume 1

Hi family!

I’m not sure where you are in your Seek Him, Volume 1 journey, but I wanted to share with you my Day 75 reflection. I took pics of my book, lined up, bookmarked, and all! In case you’re wondering, I’m using one of my earlier edited book versions so the typesetting looks different than yours. Oh and mine has typos and little things that irked me before I changed them in your version LOL.

SEEK HIM, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone

Anywho…I hope the Day 75 message resonates with you. When I read it I found that it was perfect timing for what I was going through.

SEEK HIM, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone

If you just did a double-take after reading that last sentence, let me help you out.

As I’ve shared previously, when I write I’m just flowing, letting God do what He does best, and I just click clack away on my keyboard. That’s my process with my blogging and that’s what I’m doing with the books I write. I don’t really read what I’m typing. I kinda freestyle and see where it goes. I’m always amazed later on when I read what I typed, because honestly, it isn’t fully me. There’s some bold concepts, phrases, angles, and approaches that I would rarely or never use because I’m usually a little conservative when it comes to taking risk.

Heck when I read my Breaking Bread blog posts I would clutch pearls if I wore them. Taking big and bold steps isn’t my go-to strategy as fear would normally trigger me to go a different direction. That’s why when I read my book and workbook, SEEK HIM: Workbook 1, I find myself challenged and rolling my eyes with shock. See, I don’t write my blog posts and books just for you, I write them for me. My blog is my weekly journey. It’s me struggling and wrestling with God like Jacob. I just decided to bring everyone along with me to witness the showdown and my ultimate surrender. That’s what this SEEK HIM book series is all about. I’m testing myself and asking folks if they too want to take part in the experience. I’m not professing jack, I’m walking through each moment and trying to do it with complete faith.

SEEK HIM, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone

I won’t lie, I’m terrified as to what is waiting for me in SEEK HIM, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone. And then what’s to follow in Volume 3. Because honestly, Volume 1 truly did test me. I wasn’t ready for some of the days. There were days I wanted a softly lobbed ball but I was instead thrown a fastball or curveball. Heck some days I felt a medicine ball was slammed into me. I’ve cried many days while going from the book to workbook. There have been days where I had to tell myself, “Put the book down, wipe your face, and come back later today to finish” and I did exactly that.

Of course, that may not be the case for you.

You may zoom through days that I struggled with. You may be more spiritually fit, secure, and healthier than me. You may trust God more and walk more securely with Him than I do. For you, you may say, “Bring it on sista!”

You may throw the book at the wall, like I wanted to do a few times (and did at least once) and scream, “I can’t do this you crazy woman!”

Either way, it’s all good.

God meets us where we are and lovingly guides us to where we need to be, and some parts of the path are more rigorous than others. Our endurance gets better over time and with consistent effort. I’m confident that by the time I complete SEEK HIM, Volume 3, I won’t be returning to this comfort zone. That’s too much work to backslide. I can’t get to the six-pack abs to return to the keg belly. No way no how. I’m in it to win it. I’m in it to finally be free from these shackles I placed upon myself.

How about you?

If you haven’t purchased my books, you can get them from local or online retailers. You can also find details at my publisher’s site:

I welcome you, wherever you are in your journey. Let’s break bread together as we seek Him!

Love always,

Honored to Bring You My First Published Books

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally happened…My books will be released on October 20, 2020!
Click on the image to order.

Yes, you read that correctly. The first book makes up the three-volume series. The title of the book is “SEEK HIM, Volume 1: Testing Your Spiritual Comfort Zone“. It is inspired by my journey through Breaking Bread With Natasha. In addition to a Bible verse, Reflection, and Prayer, you have daily activities such as:

Speak Your Truth” which is a daily session of affirmations and declarations that you will speak and write. They aren’t my words you’re using. They are yours. You are encouraged to speak truth over yourself.

Go Deeper” is a daily activity that challenges you to explore the theme, topics, and questions on a deeper level. To complete this activity you will be pointed to our workbook, which I will tell you more about shortly.

At the beginning of each month you will find trivia or statements about historical or cultural contexts related to the Bible. This section is called “Ponder This“. It’s purpose is to get your mind churning. You will be directed to read the corresponding “Consider This” section towards the back of the book.

Consider This is the response to Ponder This. See if your thoughts, beliefs, and understanding of the information aligns with the historical, cultural, linguistic, and religious facts provided. I didn’t just make up some information or type what I recall learning in church. I did extensive research and shared my sources in the Notes section in the back of the book.

At the end of each month there is a “Go Beyond” section which you may or may not be ready to explore, depending on your frame of mind, or what’s going on in your life. It’s also a great activity to do in Bible Study, book clubs, and with other groups.

SEEK HIM, Volume 1 comes in paperback and ebook versions.

It also has a companion workbook (as mentioned earlier) that is a tool to further encourage your deeper exploration of self, your relationship with God, and more. It’s simply titled, “SEEK HIM: Workbook 1“.

Trust me, you don’t want to skip the workbook. It truly tests your comfort zone and your knowledge of historical and cultural details from Biblical times. I was encouraged by several people to provide content that could challenge even the long-time devotees to Christ. That required hours, days, and weeks of research, fact-finding, and truth-seeking.

The culmination of this research is provided in the section of the workbook called, “Greater Context“. This section may enlighten many and shock or outrage others. All of which is great, because it keeps your mind working and thinking. Since I provided dozens upon dozens of sources, the skeptics and critics can go read those books and articles for themselves. Lifelong learning keeps us growing and our minds sharp! Each month, Volume 1 and Workbook 1 tap deeper into your mind and heart. Once you complete these books—at the end of four months, you’re then encouraged to get your copies of “SEEK HIM, Volume 2: Going Beyond Your Spiritual Comfort Zone” and its companion, “SEEK HIM: Workbook 2“, both of which have a February 2021 release date. Volume 2 and Workbook 2 continue to inspire, encourage, and challenge you through four additional months of spiritual and mental exploration.

It’s no cake walk. You can’t be passive with the SEEK HIM books. If you’re up for the challenge and you really want to seek Him at all times, and go beyond your spiritual comfort zone, then make sure you purchase these books.

By the time you finish reading those and completing the activities, you will be prepared to journey into the last four months of this book series. The third book set is our Volume 3 and Workbook 3, both of which have a scheduled book release for May 2021.

My books are being published through D.O.M.E. Life Publishing. Be sure to visit the website at DOMELIFEPUBLISHING.COM and learn more about this publishing imprint of Foreman & Associates, LLC, its mission, and the planned book releases for 2020 and 2021.

Be sure to also sign up for the newsletter so that you’re never out of the loop!I want to thank everyone who has encouraged me to write this book, or should I say, books. I never expected for it to grow and evolve into three books with three workbooks, but we never know what God has planned for us, what He’s pouring into us, and what He’s birthing through us. I’m just grateful for all of the ways He molds and uses me.

I hope that the SEEK HIM series benefits you. Lord knows that’s what I’ve been praying for since the moment I began typing the first word of Volume 1.
