Natasha’s Daily Scripture, Prayer and Reflection for 9.7.12

“Woe to the obstinate children,”
declares the Lord,
“to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit, heaping sin upon sin;…”

Isaiah 30:1 NIV

Pray
Father I pray for forgiveness for each moment I disobey You, make my own decisions, and reflect anything but Your greatness. I want to please You Lord. Please forgive me.

Reflection
Have you ever said or done something and then you stop and say, “wow I shouldn’t have said/done that”? Now consider this—right before you said or did whatever you later regretted, God told you not to do/say it. Think back to that little voice that said, “no”.

Why did you ignore it?

Why do we think that God only does things loud and chaotically? Have we conditioned ourselves to only focus on and respond to loud noise, chaos, and drama?
Do we correlate the power and loudness of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other storms with Him?

A heartbeat is not loud. Is that not God?

We feel wind every single day, yet we only hear it when enough energy is generated for our ears to hear —but is even the teensiest noise of wind still not God?

God does not need to yell to get our attention, we just need to listen. We need to block out the noise of the world, and listen to His voice.

Share your thoughts.

Love,

Natasha
